Alleged officiating crew for Saturday's game

It is common knowledge, should lOOievulle beat The Cats, it will be because of the officiating. I suspect there will be at least a dozen threads Saturday complaining about the officials. It is a common theme on this board to never, ever credit the opponent and always, always blame the ref's.
Maybe so.. but the opposition is already setting up the straw man in case they lose as well. If you go to the redbird site, you'll see numerous posts. In their "minds", the only way they lose is if the refs steal it from them.

Shows has the reputation for being a pain, but Adams is in the top 5 of worst. Hess, Greene and Adams, now there would be a crew to end all crews.

If we get through the warm ups without Shows hitting Cal with a "T" it could be a good sign.

Greene has his moments, but I wouldn't say he's in Top 5 worst. Hess, Adams, and Ayers for sure. And if Jim Burr is still waddling down the court, he would make the list too.

Something to think about. UL has only played 1 game away from home and that was a loss - they played a good game. We have played 4 games away from Rupp and lost 2. I think our boys will not lose at home especially that we are playing UL. Our record under Cal against RP is very good.

UofL has actually played 1 road game and 1 neutral game and lost the road and won the neutral. UK has played 2 road games and 2 neutral games and split them both going 1-1 for each..

Ayers I believe is the one who has called a "T" on Cal on almost every game he has done. Exaggerating a bit for effect but not too much. He clearly has a thing for Cal and prolly vice versa. No love lost between those two. Glad he isn't on the UL crew. Not overly happy about these 3 but not overly concerned either.

Officiating gets overblown by both sides to be fair. However, since Cal's owned Pitino the last 7 years it has been funny to see Card fans rationales continually change. Some posters above others are more clearly evident on their annual change of the goal posts. Every year a new excuse before the game as to why it doesn't matter--"just another non con game", "we will get robbed by refs at Rupp", "UK boosters won't allow UL to win", etc, etc. Pretty funny actually the lengths they go to to proclaim how much they don't care about the game. Ironic and amusing.

Adams has been the worse recently, but Doug Shows will never get the nod from me as a ref I hate that guy with all my heart.

3 of 17 games. Although there was a stretch where those three technicals came within 5 games. He's seemed to have settled down of late.

Since we're on the topic of refs, who was that far ref who called a charge for that that spin move by Poythress in the 2014 title game?

Well maybe exaggerated for effect a little more than I thought:flushed: I think I was thinking about that 3 game stretch maybe in relation to Ayers. Seemed like there was some history with him and Cal. The fact that he has settled down lately is definitely a good sign for us you would have to think. Although in this game you never know from year to year exactly what will go down with regard to anything, officiating included.

Eliminate zone defenses. Players are too athletic and big and cover too much of the court. It's too easy to zone and just pack in the paint while still covering the perimeter as well. This leads to all that congestion and hacking.
It also encourages basketball skills such as shooting, penetrating and dishing.

Did I dream it or didn't Ayers or Shows T Cal up in one of those games from across the floor? There was even another ref there close to Cal who saw nothing. It was one of those WTH just happened moments that just didn't make sense.

I think you are correct. Someone more knowledgeable than I can confirm, but there was a string of games where Ayers and Cal just went at it. Ayers made some erratic and head scratching calls and Cal was all over him.

Found it Krazy. I challenge anyone to give me a reason why Ayers calls this "T" on Cal. If there is not some sinister stuff going on here, I don't know what to think.

Sorry not proficient at posting links. May have to copy and paste

That's the one. Knew I didn't dream it. A real head scratcher. Ayers was definitely planning that one. Thanks Atrain.
