Numerous Final Fours and a National Title. We even went 38-0 one year, which is still the best start all-time.Apparently Cal was getting the best talent, how'd that work out?

You can’t build a contender completely from the portal every year.I kinda have mixed feelings about this. I think a couple of portal players were definite upgrades over what we have now.
Naw. Kriisa doesn't give two s**** about feasting in the Halls of Valhalla. Kids today...![]()
Bummer, I was hoping he would draw a Blood Eagle on Auburn next season
Pope put together a roster in his first season that was talented enough to win a National Championship. If any of the 4 teams remaining had their 2nd and 3rd best shooters out for the year and a limited starting PG and PF most of the season, that team would not have made the Final Four. The guy can coach. That much is obvious. I'm starting to get genuinely worry about his ability to get the best talent though.
Is this a good thing tho? Not sure a third of the team being from the blue grass state is a positiveThis means that we will have (at least) 4 native Kentuckians as scholarship players, at least 3 of who will be regular rotation players. You have to go back many years, probably the Unforgettables, since that has happened.
Yall are really underselling these 5. I could maybe take BG or leave him but I also see him as Nick Richards 2.0.I kinda have mixed feelings about this. I think a couple of portal players were definite upgrades over what we have now.
That would mean he's meeting and zooming a lot of kids now that he has no interest in signing and I don't think that's anything like Pope.Do you think Pope already knows who he gets and is keeping it quiet ? He is good at keeping things pretty close to the vest.
When one is a 5-star top 20 player in his class and another is a McDonald’s AA, I think it’s fine.Is this a good thing tho? Not sure a third of the team being from the blue grass state is a positive
You're a tubbyfan and your worried about Mark not getting talent . What am I not getting hereThe guy can coach. That much is obvious. I'm starting to get genuinely worry about his ability to get the best talent though.
Having raised three children, I've got to say it was a much more tolerable show than Barney. If I had to pick one to be a fan of, I'd probably go with Timmy the Tooth. I do understand the love for the Telly Tubby Land though, that baby face in the sun along with the laugh was adorable. You're a tubbyfan and your worried about Mark not getting talent . How dare you bring logical and rational thinking to a good coach Pope bashing session.Yeah I really don't care about getting the "best" transfer portal talent. The rankings are often wrong anyway, and signing the top guys doesn't automatically lead to success. A lot of the guys in the SEC who punched us in the mouth this year weren't highly ranked in the portal.
Amari was ranked in the 80s last year and by the end of the year he was a machine. Give me guys that Pope feels are fits for the program and keep them in the program for a few years. I think that's the path to success here.
I'm much more concerned about who stays and not so much who is signed.
And how long did it last? The last 5 years he accomplished nothing to speak of. The game passed him by because of his coaching technique, or lack there of.Numerous Final Fours and a National Title. We even went 38-0 one year, which is still the best start all-time.
All you asked is what Cal done for us.And how long did it last? The last 5 years he accomplished nothing to speak of. The game passed him by because of his coaching technique, or lack there of.
