Agbim enters portal

Those people are paid to sell the University to fans. All of them. You trusting them is a problem, but I don't really care if you trust me. I've stated exactly why I feel that way. And you should have put it together just like I did. I mean we both started at the same place. I've been a Kentucky fan my entire life. I am just able to face uncomfortable truths and clearly most of you are not.
You are lying about being a UK fan or you can't get over the fact that CCC is no longer here. You must have been in hog heaven when Ark beat UK.

If you think that UK had to offer Pope ridiculous money to pry him away from BYU, then you have no credibility. Pope would have taken the job if UK had just matched the BYU pay. Mitch payed the amont he did because it is one of the most demanding jobs in basketball.

It does not matter if anyone has any kind of affiliation directly with Kentucky. Kentucky has a huge fanbase. All the national writers are doing the same thing. And you have no way of knowing what sort of ties people have. All that is behind closed doors. There are a lot of figures being paid by Kentucky that you have no idea about.
You can be a fool. I'm not trying to reach fools. I never claimed to be a CURRENT UK fan. I gave up my fandom and I can't even muster the strength to root hard for the current team. It really doesn't make any difference to me whether we win or lose. It's all about the wrong things now and we're being strung along by the powers that be that everything is the same and Calipari left because he was about to be fired—or whatever you tell yourself—and not because he could afford a better roster at Arkansas.
Well what exactly are you trying to accomplish here ? What are you so upset about? The current state of college basketball? Are you wanting all of us to join you and boycott college basketball ? I just don’t see what your intentions are.

The proof is always in the pudding. And we don't have a chance to win the Ament bidding war, which is pretty good proof. You have no idea if anyone actually offered him 2 million. And even if they did, the issue here is that so many other schools we're competing against have deeper pockets. This is why Cal left. I'm sure you'll probably never accept that reality but it's absloutely true. Players were taking discounts to play at Kentucky while Cal was here because he had a proven track record of putting guys in the league. And he still couldn't build a team deep enough to compete at the level fans are accustomed to. Hell, we had to give Mark Pope a ridiculous contract to get him to come here and he's a Kentucky boy! That's why. It's hard to win at the level fans expect at Kentucky now.
What seed did cal get this year again? I forgot. I know pope got us a 3 seed despite half the team being injured, I also believe we beat the most top 15 teams in history as well. But what was arks seed again?

I'm trying to wake all of you Rip Van Winkles up. I derive no pleasure from the misery of others. I have a really great life. I don't need to do that. I have everything I could ever possibly need in life. But I hate this system. I despise being lied to and we are constantly being lied to by everyone involved in Sports. So, what I gain from posting here is helping absolutely anyone come to the same realizations i have. I don't care if it's just one person. To me, it's worth it. All the hate I get. All the accusations of being a fan of some other team. I hate the entire system. Why would I root for another team?
You are strange man, but good for you. Keep up the good fight.

Clayton Jr listed 6’3”, Richard 6’4”.

The way some of you are talking we played teams that had backcourts like 2014 Kentucky
6’6” pg, 6’6” sg, 6’7”

This didn’t come down to size, I trust Pope will find the right guys and diagnose the right issues

But again, all of those dudes are over 200 pounds and play really physical. It’s not about just height. It’s about being able to be versatile and play different ways.

I don’t know why this is a hard concept. There is no chance you can watch guys like UFs backcourt, Auburn’s perimeter, even a guy like Oweh, and not realize that guards like that can physically dominate a game. You need at least SOME of those. If Oweh is the only guard we have over 200 pounds next year, that is a huge, huge problem. Johnson, Lewis, Perry and Agbim are all in the 170-180 range.

Duke went out and got Sion James (6’6, 220), Foster (6’5, 200), Knuepell (6’7, 205) etc.

So many of the top teams are like that.

Can’t even believe this is a debate at this point. You can’t have an entire stable of dudes in your backcourt who are the size of Rob Dillingham and expect to defend and rebound and execute at a high level. You can have a few of them, but they can’t ALL be like that.

Right now all we have is Oweh on next years roster that can be a bit bigger and more physical, that’s not good enough.

I agree. I’m not saying not to have a guy or two like that. We already do — Oweh.

Yeah, they're 6'3" and 6'4" but they're also much thicker guards that can take a bump and still finish.
There's a big difference between thick guards like Clayton, Richards and Martin and beanpoles that top out at 175lbs and have a 29" waste.
Martin is 6'2" 210 pounds with the ability to finish at the rim.

6'7" 175lb guards are great for mid-major type programs, give me guys in the backcourt like Clayton, Richards and Martin every time over bean poles.
I don't want to hear that those guys aren't available, because they are. All those guys were picked up out of the portal, just like Oweh and Butler were.

LOL, not to take up for Cal, but he was doing this elite recruiting when Pope was still shitting yellow. He is NOT following Pope around. I hope you don't really believe your post. Has to be a joke. Right ??????? If you do not think Cal will land studs from the portal, you obviously are not paying attention. Now that, I CAN believe. One thing Cal does elite, is RECRUIT. He doesn't need to follow Pope. Seems like Arkansas interest came out before UK, maybe Pope is doing what Cal does ???? Nope, they are BOTH trying to land the most talent possible for THEIR teams.
Cal has the recruiting edge but I'd give Pope the nod for assembling a team. As we've seen in the past, simply grabbing talent isn't always a recipe for success. The pieces need to fit together. As Pope states, it's like making a good stew.

Honestly the only ones I think are for sure better are smith/dent/thorthon. So let’s hope it’s 1 of those 3
They aren’t saying anyone is better. They LOVE Agbim and think he would be a perfect fit. They just think there are a couple of guys that are going to be entering the portal that we have a better chance at getting.
