Adrian Wooley to Louisville

Dude is supposed to be the next Lanier and Knecht…6’5 baller. I thought it was down to Bama and Auburn.

Shouldn’t. Ament is a 3/4. Plus him going to Duke would be worse in my eyes.
He's a 3/4 but I don't think UL getting a tall star 3 is gonna make them any more attractive in his eyes. If it was only down to Duke (and it may well be) yeah I'd definitely rather have him at little brother than at Puke. But since I don't know for sure I say every competitor for him that gets weaker is a positive.

Don’t know where that comes from though. We got money. Tough part is deciding who to use it for. Fans keep wanting this guy and that guy but Pope is going to be meticulous about getting the right ones.
I guess I need to be a little more patient but Pope needs more fire power than what he had this year to make it to that next level.

I wonder if Pope is keeping an eye on how the money is distributed across the team. Having one or two guys making boatloads more than the rest of the team seems a bit antithetical to the culture he's trying to build.

We are watching a baker put together a work of art, but all the while we ask, “Are you sure that isn’t too much flour? Are you really sure that’s enough eggs?” Of course, with our last coach supreme ingredients were used but we saw a finished product that tasted more like beefstew than a cake. It is still too early to know what the cake will look like from the current baker, but I say let’s let him bake the cake. If the cake sucks, we won’t eat it. Kentucky fans, for better or worse, will not settle for less than greatness. Let’s give the coach room to show us what he can do.

Some of us know how to bake cakes.

Wooley may have been a 3 star high school evaluation but he's one of best prospects in the portal. Kid can play.
Maybe UL offered him an insanely lucrative NIL package but just about any school would have taken a commitment from him.

I’m not sure what you mean. I didn’t say anything paying certain players any certain amount. Could you clarify your question?

No I didn't say he was a 3 star, I said he was a star 3. Probably wing/swingman at his height.

I guess it really is all about the $$. Louisville is a bad place. Downtown is dangerous, dirty, and empty after dark. The Oaks / Derby is still a good time but the rest of that place is undesirable. Again, I guess the money is the clincher.
When’s the last time you were off the farm?

I think Pope knows who he hopes to get, and who is the backup if he doesn't get his first choice. Someone who fits in his game is the best choice.

You just have to use common sense downtown. It’s not that bad, much worse areas on the outskirts of it.

Louisville will have the money. Nothing is more important than athletics to the old network. They just ditched their president after only two years and hired a new one in an hour with no search. The good old boys may be back in charge
