According to Travis Branham 24/7 - Oscar is gone

TO
There is already a thread on this...why do people start another one with the same thing?

to give guys like you something to complain about
what is the big deal?

We were not going to win with Oscar. So what difference does it make? We will lose with or without him? Kid from South Dakota is probably a better fit and I'd take that over Oscar. He seems very high maintenance.
I like Oscar but 1 tournament win in 2 years come on have to admit not very good results.

Just shut up.

true, but at least he played hard
this is the very reason that this idiot coach should have been in touch with the guy from Utah Valley & Ware from Oregon.

I think at some point eyes have to turn to Mitch Barnhart, the freaking athletic director, and have him explain why his men's (and women's) basketball team is having such an impossible time filling out a roster. Buck stops with the AD in my book.
No questions that guy should be gone. Should have been after the stupid contract he gave cal. Uk bb is a middling sec program now. I don’t want explanations want him gone

Why is this sort of news to so many?

1. It's been pretty obvious he wasn't coming back...the whole Hunter Dickinson engagement....it was apparent Oscar wasn't committed to come back.

2. Cal sort of took back handed jabs at Oscar....and did that only time when Cal announced a kid was testing NBA vs. lettign the kid do it themselves.

3. And Oscar isn't a scrub.....warts and all. Cody Zeller is playing in NBA finals as backup. Oscar could play circles around his scrub self. And he's an asset to so many NBA rosters...even if he's not a full fledged starting Center.

So going to be great to see Ugonna see if he can hang...and Bradshaw I guess is a skinny as a rail interior PF...who has shot like 10 3ptrs...so now we're going to roll out the red carpet for him to play a brand new position in college for first time. And there is like zero depth behind either of them at this point.

Great job by Cal of building that roster!

And Cal has no backup plan.
He has a list of reasons/excuses of everything we've all heard before. All he cares about is getting these incoming freshmen drafted next year. That has nothing to do with UK winning anything ... that doesn't matter to Cal. He has his ring, he has his money and he doesn't care about the University, Program, Tradition nor BBN. This is what he's said ... he only cares about the draft. We're all idiots to put up with him much less defend him. He's decimated this program and considers that collateral damage, that he's OK with, as long as he believes he's ending generational poverty. Sick and Twisted. The coming rage will be directed at Barnhart, the Board and UK President who are the safety net for the program, but they appear to do nothing. None of this had to happen. I would be perfectly happy to never recruit a "so-called" OAD player ever again with Cal's model.

The Nelson kid from North Dakota State isn't remotely close to a "better fit" than Oscar. This is just silly. Nelson is scrawny and lacks any physicality, he won't average anywhere near 13.5 rpg's, and he won't be anywhere near as offensively efficient as Oscar was in the SEC. Nelson went 3 for 10 against Kansas in November 2022 and 3 for 8 against a crappy Nebraska squad the season before. I like the Nelson kid and have watched him play. But Nelson has been playing against low-major talent in the Summit, he averaged only 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in the Combine Games, and he will get absolutely throttled in the SEC if he plays under Calipari's "leadership."

think Oscar has had enough of ccc & his yelling......can't blame him
Yes, it will very entertaining watching an all freshman starting lineup
Ugo & Bradshaw will be a disappointment.
both will be in foul trouble, with Bradshaw throwing up bricks like Toppin from the 3 point line
Neither will be able to guard anyone, especially at the forward position

yea, gonna be a great year.............hopefully ccc's last

at this rate I’m wondering how we will even have decent practices

You do realize that Reeves, Grady, and Washington shot a collective 4/ 32 in two those close-out games? Meanwhile Oscar averaged 20 points and 20 rebounds and three tournament games.

Amen to that. It was the guards that failed UK.

And our backup center and pf is Thiero and backup pg, sg, sf is baby shep. Gonna be wild

Kept telling y’all I heard from very credible source that all 3 are gone. People found a million reasons to say that can be true. You will see.

The travesty of this is that UK has been twiddling their thumbs waiting for 3 guys to decide what they want to do. In the current NIL/portal day that is not going to cut it. The response needs to be, take as much time as you want, but you may not have a roster spot if you take too much time.

Cal's fat ass gonna get run out of town after this season. The heat will be too hot under his lard ass. He'll leave on his own.

Cal must’ve heard my call during the year that everyone besides developmental guys Ugo and Adou needed to go. Problem is I don’t think he understood the presumed filling with good players part on the backend!

I wish Cow was gone. Doesn’t honestly matter who goes, stays, or comes in as long as he is coaching.

That’s the real problem with our once great program.
