Stoops hired W when he was un employed.
Said W did not come back to Lexington to tell his players he was leaving
Said he was recruiting a player for us and the next day was recruiting him for Bama
Said there is some frustration in Lex about how he has handled the whole situation

I am so glad that this is now out. There is even more I am sure that will come out later. Very disappointed in Wolfords lack of respect for his friend who gave him a job.

Assume that to be Jalen Farmer?

As others have noted, he seemed to be a good recruiter (though apparently not a very ethical one), but not all that great at X’s and O’s. Apart from the recruiting aspect this is not that big of a loss.

Contrast this with Sumrall, who left for Troy but came back to finish the recruitment of a kid to UK (I forget who), then coached UK in the bowl game. Makes it seem even more crappy. I know who I'd want in my foxhole.

Says alot about Saben as well
Saban ain't about playing nice, he's about winning. Always has been. When you're the goat, you get to write the rules you play by. For another example, see coach K in round ball. Neither of these guys have any scruples, they just have insulation. Hell, Saban's been running a dirtbag coach rehab openly for a long time now. He doesn't even have to pay them because if he does they lose their buyout money.

What a shame for him to take a line that Coach Schlarman built and disrespect the way he did. To not even be straight up and let someone know he wasn’t leaving town. I hope he goes to bed at night and he can’t sleep he’s a big piece of $hit!

I'll see your classless exit and raise you one neckbrace.

To add to this: this dude's career was on the ropes at SC. He got thrown a bone by his more successful hometown buddies and dicked them over on the way out the door. I can imagine the conversation being like, hey man we've got an o-line that is impossible to screw up. Come in and give it your best shot for a year and maybe ride that into another job. Heck, if you do a good job you can stay as long as you like.

This guy is garbage. You reap what you sow at some point, so maybe a year or two down the line, Kentucky gets one on Bama due to poor line play.

I almost wrote something the other day but held back. Now that Matt has said it, I’ll say I met him on one occasion and I guess I’m not surprised by what Matt wrote. I’m sure we all have people that may think something bad about us or weird about us, so I really hate to judge someone on one encounter but seemed like he was quite the character and full of himself.

Hope Sumrall kills it in a couple of stops and then rotates home when Stoops is ready to golf, fish, and pitch whiskey full time.

Stoops has been building a team and coaching staff as a family - this turd obviously was just a stinky fish-mongering boarder

So do no other state jobs/public universities have the "job must be published and open for 10 days before filled" law that handcuffs UK sports all the time? Or they do, but don't bother to follow it because no one will complain or enforce it?

Dude was on the job recruiting less than 12 hrs after being offered. ..and the guy he is replacing hasn't been fired nor resigned/ accepted another position.

Always interesting how staffing is handled at other places as compared to UK. God Bless Stoops, but no doubt this hire will take him a month to 6 weeks, per usual.

He’s Nick phuggin’ Saban…..Bama’s President probably gives up his seat to Nick

As for recruiting for Kentucky one day then Alabama the next, that happens all the time when coaches change schools.

Ironically, YOUR new assistant, Mike Stoops, AND Brent Venables, were both accused of this when Bob Stoops hired them years ago at Oklahoma when Bob got the job there. Bill Snyder at Kansas State was pissed at this exact thing with those two.

Recently Jay Norvell was named HC at Colorado State after leaving Nevada. Only a week later he announced 8 of his players at Nevada were transferring to follow him to CSU. He also began immediately recruiting the same guys to CSU that he was to Nevada.

You follow what happened at USC recently when Lincoln Riley took over there. Half of USCs recruits in this class were committed to Oklahoma at one point and a couple top portal guys were at OU with Riley.

This charge against Wolford is common stuff in these situations. As for the other stuff, who knows.

Anyone who. Falls in love with assistant coaches needs to grow up. Look on this as a chance to get a coach that has NFL experience and move on. OL coaches are everywhere and UK needs to hire someone that can recruit and teach at a high level and move on. Loyalty is not assistant coaches.
