We have no legit post presence. Having 7 really good players is great but you can’t have holes. This is Cals Achilles he cannot create a complete roster. For 2 years no pg. other years no shooters, other years missing big man. This was tubbys undoing. Cal brings in better talent but tubby was better at developing and getting most out his teams
A post player would be nice but it would be cool to see a small ball lineup or a 5 out offense
Fun to watch maybe if they get hot but coaching with cal it always resorts to a slugfest.

If that didn't happen though something else would of . Cal deserves TONS OF criticism but he doesn't nor has he ever in my book deserved it for the rosters he builds. Especially this season. Best recruiting class In UK history IMO when we add Cyril and u take into account Mitchell. With Mitchell and Reeves we have experience.
The Question is can Cal get out of his own way and let the guys do thier thing. If he can we are a final 4 team. I thought up until Covid Cal was a top 3 coach in CBB going back to his early UMASS days. Covid hit and its like he forgot how to coach. Hopefully he remembers as even that lst team with Maxey , EJ Quickley ect had a great shot at a title if not for Covid hitting.

It just doesn't matter who is on the roster. At the end of the day Calipari is still the coach and that is all you need to know.

Cal has always been able to get players it is his coaching and not being prepared for games that he falls short.
Yup, all these guys that are defending Cal here by saying he did a great job building the roster, will be here in January talking about how the players were all overrated and Cal is handcuffed. It’s never Cal's fault.
I'll say this, if he doesn't win with this roster, then there are no more excuses, he’s had every other style of roster the last 5 years and has failed, this is the roster everyone has been waiting for.
Me personally, I don't think he has enough to win anything of merit. He plays too many favorites, he doesn't have enough shooting, he doesn't have a legit 5 (for his style of play) his offense doesn't work, there are too many injuries every year and turmoil seems to be a common issue in the locker room these days.
I would love it if he proved me wrong though.

I would pass out if I saw Cal run a 5 out offense for more than just a few plays.
I do think Cal should be criticized for a few roster decisions actually.
Wheeler (twice) was never UK caliber, Askew, was not even Louisville caliber, Hagans (2 years), not UK caliber, Shaedon Sharpe needs no introduction here, Ryan Harrow never should have been offered a scholarship here.
Cal has rolled the dice on too many guys at the most important position on the roster way too many times for me to say he gets an A+ for roster construction.

Cal gets good players every year, but eventually people (me and many others) are tired of falling for the hype, then watch as Lucy pulls the football away each time.
What you're seeing is media members that feel the same way. Every year they put UK in their pre season top 5 and every year Calipari shits his pants. Talent has never been the issue, just look at the NBA man, it's loaded with, UK/Cal players.
My question to you is, how long are you going to fall for the hype? When are you going to stop and say "prove it"? That's where I've been for many years now, I want Cal to prove that he cares more about UK than individual player accomplishments and goals.

Gotta give it a chance Jeff …we got new life …I’ve started many a negative Cal thread …but when he does something right I start threads too …if we flail again I’ll be right there with you …as I’ve been saying I like the position we’re in …for me it will be fun doing the chasing this year with such a young talented team …something different then having expectations and being ranked top 3 every season

He deserves credit for pulling out a good roster. He does not deserve credit for how it happened. For example this latest key piece never happens if Huggins behaves himself.
The "gotta give it a chance" mindset was so 2018, I'm way past that. Cal doesn’t get to prioritize the draft and lose at a historic level and.still keep me in the palm of his hand.

The roster is pretty much set(maybe we add Cyril)We get a taste of what we are in about 2 weeks. The Canadian competition will likely be a bit better than the Bahama competition. I doubt if anyone( including Cal and the staff) has much of an idea what we have or don't have. Probably better than the 9-16 crew but beyond that who knows

That puts us about mid sec. Question: How many programs have started with a preseason ranking as low as #17 and then went on winning the championship? Honest question. I know most come from a preseason top ten ranking.
