I haven't seen one minute of a Kentucky game - yet. I was one of the biggest fans of UK basketball ever! Once I won lottery season tickets to Rupp arena I never missed a game for 20 years. I lost a lot of that when Tubby was coach. I actually gave up my season tickets. Don't get me wrong - I liked Tubby as a person - but he took away Kentucky basketball as he took over the program and put "his" style of play into action. The most exciting times I remember was the first years of Coach Pitino's time here - year 1 - it was the most exciting time at Rupp Arena ever. The style of play - the fans excitement - it was fun basketball. Season ticket holders were the most excited I ever saw!
From just reading the post of the fans here, I see that the excitement has returned! It's so refreshing to be excited about Kentucky basketball again! I now look forward to seeing the games on TV again. Whether we win or lose - hopefully no losses of course - this team appears to be one that will be fun to watch. Race horse basketball - wasn't that what is was called when Coach Rupp roamed the sidelines? Well, whatever it was - it appears to be back! Kentucky basketball truly is about the fans and people of Kentucky - Coach Pope lived it and he truly embodies the spirit of the fans and Kentucky basketball!
