40-0?

I will never say a team will go undefeated again.

That being said, this is a team, again if the pieces come together, that should be playing to get to Indy and then to get the ship. But so are about 5 other teams out there right now. Cannot put 6 in Indy so a couple will be left out. Got to always have some luck along the way, luck of the draw, luck of the refs for the game, luck during the game and so forth.

Hope we have an epic ride like 96, if we get lucky!

So OP, you are being serious it seems?? I'd like to discuss this seriously if so. Because you're crazy. No one will ever go undefeated again in college hoops

its not a joke man, i think we can pull it off this year. roster is stacked and the sec is weak.
Roster is stacked???
Stacked full of unproven players. Lol
Quintance is coming off a major injury. Scored 8-10 a game last year. Amari did that.
Diabontai was not an SEC starter
The foreign kid has never played one second of SEC or American basketball.
Our only proven transfer from Pitt. Regressed last year taking on a bigger role.
Oweh is our only returning player who started. The rest of the returnees were reserve players.
If you call that stacked, you’re optimistic.
We have unproven talent and athleticism.

Nope. Not played a single game together. Looks good on paper but who knows how it will turn out. I'll take 11-31 if it gets us a title in the end though.

I think that is a fair take but we have a lot of quality depth, as long as we stay healthy I think we have a roster capable of being top 5 all year.

Given where the roster stands, I think this legitimately could happen next year! Yeahhh! Time for nine!

What do you all think?
I think RR has gone crazy this past couple weeks on how good we will be next year. At the moment, it's possible we won't have one guy who can go get us a basket when we need one. Now it's likely Oweh returns, and he would give us 1.
Quaintance - more defender than scorer, 9.3 pt in 32.3mpg
Garrison - we've seen, and he's not "that guy", he can contribute, but he won't be a guy we lean on for pts
Johnson- the FR has the potential to be "that guy", but w/ FR you never know
Lowe - he was asked to be "that guy" for Pitt, and he shot 43% from 2 & 27% from 3, that's not even close to what you want from "that guy". I think he will improve on that, but not enough to be "the guy"
Jelavic - like FR but even more so, the international players are big question marks, he could be "that guy" or he could be another Big Z
Dioubate - I love the energy he brings, and he definitely will contribute, but he's only played a supporting role his first 2 years, could he become "that guy" sure, but far from a guarantee
Chandler - I liked what he flashed the final month of the season, but that's not enough to elevate to "that guy" status yet
Aberdeen - same as Dioubate, except he's had 3 years in supporting role
Moreno & Noah, I don't see playing a lot (<10mpg, possibly <5mpg).
Oweh, he is "that guy".

I take your point. We will have three guys I think that can get a basket in a situation we need one.

Oweh- I believe he will return and he can shoot, get inside, penetrate etc

JQ- I think if we feed him inside, he can get us a dunk, layup etc.

Kam- he’s a 40 percent three point shooter. He is not on the level of Brea but I’ll counter and say this: we were a 3 seed with several guys who could get us a basket. And we were out in the sweet 16. So “getting us a basket” isn’t really the answer. Injuries and lack of defense cost us this year. We will score 65 or fewer points in some games this year, but the difference will be, the other team will score 60.

Another thing is, we also have Chandler and Noah coming back and both of them have shown promise in getting us outside and perimeter shots. I can absolutely see Chandler averaging 2 made 3s a game. We also have a foreigner coming in who will spread the defenses to allow Lowe and Oweh to cut to the basket. Kam I believe also has that ability. Pope is trying to put a puzzle together in a way that will help and compliment other pieces.

JJ is a guy I’m looking forward to seeing. He is a cutter similar to Oweh and I’m curious what he can do on the perimeter.

We are stacked with players who will get alot of minutes so I think we will run other teams to death. We have a lot of length, and we have a lot of defense. We have 2 of the top 4 defensive players in the portal.

We are certainly not going 40-0. We will certainly get more wins than we did this year, if we can stay healthy and that’s due to a combination of things. First, the sec won’t be nearly as good, second we will be better, if we stay healthy, and third, it’s Popes second year and he’s not having to fight on his back, he can dictate now.

Anything is possible. I mean, I didn’t think it was possible for our fans to be more unreasonable than they already are and then this post happened…

I don’t disagree Fox. We could come together and be a final four team. We could struggle be worse than last year. Who knows. Our players have not been successful in the SEC besides Oweh.
To say …. We are stacked and favorites is being a homer and inedibly optimistic

Fair take and a lot of valid points. I've learned to never get too high or too low on teams. Therefore, I'll say that we aren't going 40-0 but we also aren't going to be dog water either. I like to keep my expectations like that.
