3 UK Guards Have Higher Scoring Averages Than The Hyped Newman and Blakeney

What is Mississippi State's record? He may not even make an NIT game this year. Just ridiculous.

Why all these idiots this year went to bottom of the barrel schools I'll never understand. Blankeney and Simmons to LSU, Newman to MSU, Zimmerman to UNLV, Brown to Cal. Just stupid. Outside of LSU haven't seen a single game of any of the other recruits. Hopefully lesson learned to any future recruits.

I don't understand it either. I've never even heard anything about these kids this year outside of Simmons.

I saw part of a UNLV game because I stayed up kinda late one night. Likely won't see a Cal game unless they happen to have an afternoon or early night game against someone like Arizona. MSU just sucks, and Cal isn't much better. UNLV isn't bottom of the barrel though. 8-2 with wins over then ranked Indiana and then ranked Oregon, close losses to UCLA and a Wichita State team that had Van Vleet (Wichita sucked without Van Vleet) and Frankamp.

So what you're telling me is that guys like that could've came here, actually won games, and still ended up scoring more points than they would've going somewhere where they got to be "the man" and focal point of their teams offense?

If only someone had informed them of that beforehand... oh wait.

I have to admit.....i'm kind of enjoying the dumpster fire that the ESPN Ben Simmons slobfest has turned into. They keep telling us to watch and Johnny Jones' boys keep losing. It will be interesting to see which one ESPN hypes more, the NCAA tournament or the NIT featuring Ben Simmons and the LSU Tigers.

The 2015 class could make recruiting for Cal much easier going forward if all the elite guys who picked garbage programs over UK all end up in the NIT and Kenny Payne coaches Skal up from a 0 & 0 guy to an All-American.

I believe in you, Kenny.

Becoming more and more apparent that this last class wasn't that stacked. Many of the top recruits are putting up respectable numbers, but the only one really tearing it up is Simmons.

Completely retarded class. Their parents were a big part of the problem I'm sure.

From what i'm seeing from Newman, i'm not sure why so many still worry about him. He has talent, but Murray and Briscoe are better players for our current team. Newman had all the hype in the world, but when the lights come on, hype doesn't help you win games as we can all see from Skal. Give these kids time before we make too bold of predictions on their futures. They are still kids and we are not, what? 10 games into their careers.

These handlers are idiots. These kids are getting zero exposure. While a guy like Brown isn't going to lose draft stock, he's almost certain not to gain and draft spots either, and when it actually comes to improving with the context of a team, there is very little argument to be made for choosing one of these 2nd or 3rd tier programs.

What Howland, Jones, Martin, etc. are all seeing is, it's hard to win with freshmen no matter how talented they are. That is what makes what Calipari does on a such a regular basis so amazing.

You got it all wrong.

All JC's players are guaranteed to be NBA star. Other team are just getting "not really" 5* NBA players. JC is just lucky, and other schools are just unfortunate.

;-)

If you're talking about scoring points per game, then yes, 3 UK guards are leading Blakeney. However, if you're talking about scoring ratchet hoes paid for by the University of Louisville, then Blakeney is dominating the competition.

Color me shocked. I thought Newman would average 20+ at Miss st. Murray hasn't been quite as good as I had hoped (yet) but Lord, I would still much rather have him then Newman.

and that's only because ESPN knows how good he really is and giving him his own highlight reels. you won't see any right ups on lsu basketball though.

I wonder which three guards on our team will average more then them next year.

You have making a good point but they cannot all play for UK. Had Cal signed Blankeney you would not have Murray. The Cal system works best with about 7 quality kids to get most of the minutes.
