2017 Recruiting Wish List

Since 2016 is just about wrapped up, I've been checking out a lot of the 2017 players lately.

If I can pick 5 I want the most, I'd go with:

Ayton - No brainer. That size. That much skill. Just cautious of eligibility issues. If not him, Bamba.
Wilkes and Vanderbilt - both bring size and athleticism on the wings. They'd fit well with (hopefully) Junior year Matthews.
Duval and Young - Yep, want them both. Can never have enough ball handlers and Young is a deadeye shooter.

Obviously I would want Carter and Porter, but I doubt they're seriously interested.

Trent jr is near the top of my wish list with Duval,Vanderbilt,Ayton,Carter and Richards....Trent had a 46pt game last week...He may be a dukie though

Well we project to have 7 maybe 8 open scholarships so you may need a longer wish list. But with Cal as your santa anything is possible!!!

It's still a lil early to think a kid is not coming here or going somewhere else. Way too much time left to be thinking like that. I'm sure once Cal gets serious and starts to really recruit a few of these guys, we will shoot up their list and be at the top or near the top. I'm sure any minute now the KU fan will tell us which ones Ku is leading for. We all know they will probably not end up with any of them, but let's pretend he knows what he's talking about and make the Ku fan feel good.

Ayton: He needs to leave Hillcrest Prep though or maybe he's just never going to college. Can say that Bahamas Trip 2 Summers ago led to his family really loving UK. Remember he played in games at same venue against UNC.

Marvin Bagley--He can reclassify and might--he's also not from AZ originally--think it's Tennessee.

Jared Vanderbilt--Think LH MKG with better ball skills.

Trevon Dural---UK making move.

Gary Trent Jr--He might not want to follow Tyus footsteps to Duke-but if he does plan on going to college with Wendell Carter--then it'll be Duke undoubtedly.

John Petty-- UK like Monk was--you'll hear things but only way UK doesn't land him is if they prefer others (Hamidou Diallo for instance)

Nick Richards-- Keep an eye out for him--same friend who was telling me about Fox, Bam, Monk mentioned that he's a heavy UK lean right now and wants to go to Lexington.

Always remember others will emerge over course of this year/Next Spring/Summer so it's very fluid but some of these names aren't going to change as they are priorities for every elite program in country.Keep an eye out for the shot blocker from GA Stars whose name off top of my head I can't spell correctly--but know he goes by Ike for first name--has an African name.

Duval is unlikely. There's questions surrounding his new school or mentors. I'm not sure which. Young is No. 1 on my list.

Good breakdown. I think UK lands Vanderbilt, Richards, and possibly Petty.
