He should have come back but he wasn't going to be a top 15 pick. Next year's draft won't have the centers this one does so someone may have stretched for him in the first round. But I seriously doubt he would have shown anything significant next year that he hadn't already shown.

you need to really think long and hard about you are actually wanting.

That's how much the NBA teams regard 2nd round picks. They will draft a foreign player with potential and retain the rights to him just in case he blossoms and is later able to play for their team.
