2010 VS 2015 Wildcats201 Who ya got?? and Why?

Bledsoe could be a real wild card in that game. He matches up favorably with all our guards; too quick for the Twins, but still small and agile enough that Tyler couldn't disrupt him as much.

the 2010 at that time was no where near as good as this 2015 squad and to say other wise is just not looking at facts . Now Wall and Cousins are more talented then anyone on this year's team but we are talking about a team not 2 players. That team lost to WVU in the elite 8 and this team wouldn't let that happen to them in a million years .

2015 79 2010 70

Booker and Ulis wear out 2010 from 3 hitting a combined 11 threes

Cousins dominates with 25 pts and 13 rebounds in a losing effort.

He also turned the ball over quite frequently. Pretty bad matchup for him considering that this year's team is quite adept at forcing turnovers.

2010 much, much more star power.

2015 wins no question.

2015 is the better team by a really comfortable margin. Notable things that go into that:

more disciplined outside shooting (2010 was worse at selection and planning than they were at shooting. They had no Booker and no shot creator either, but they still averaged over 40% from outside as a team many nights before conference play. They could have harnessed that with discipline...and experience)much more in-system experience Cal is much better at using guys who don't fit textbook DDMO (it is a real thing)lower talent ceiling but higher talent baselinedepth
Team goes an awfully long way in CBB: why it's my favorite sport.

Good thread.

78 vs 84 vs 96 vs 10 vs 12 vs 15, would all be pretty good games/series.

In the 10 vs 15, I see it going this way.
Wall would be taking Andrew off the dribble into the lane easily (or using his size to get inside on Ulis), but would keep running into our bigs & missing more than he makes. His best success would come from kicking it back out to a open Bledsoe. Cousins would dominate at first, but then get frustrated by the 2 seven-footers on him when he gets the ball, and find himself on the bench with 2 fouls midway through the first half. As good as Patterson is/was, he did get his shot blocked a lot, and that would certainly continue in this game. At the other end, I don't see much more success, where the 10 team was as good a rebounding team as the 15 team so they wouldn't be getttng as many 2nd chance points. 15 team wins 62-59 as both teams struggle scoring.

Everyone is talking about how raw the 2010 team was, but Patrick Patterson was on that team and he was 35% from the three point line that year. Dodson, Liggins and Miller were the small forwards that year. You had Harrellson and Stevenson who couldn't even get off the bench. If this 2015 team is 34-0 after the Sec tourny then I may change my mind, but until then I'll stick with 2010.
Great points, I agree 100%!

Awesome threat, love the back and forth. Isn't it great that we have this type of conversation and we aren't even talk about the team that won the national championship?

I mean just in talking about the bench, how would a Booker vs Liggins look? We have not had many kids here under Cal that I liked seeing play "D" than Liggins. Booker is the consummate "baller" plays hard, plays tough. Then you have Liggins, a mature, physical player that could go into BEAST MODE and just shut someone down.

I think people just giving the 2015 team the edge with bench play may be a tad premature......Lets not forget about Ramon "Razor" Harris, while inconsistent, still a defender that could really give teams fits. Imagine a Harris Lyles matchup....

Josh Harrellson is one of my favorite players ever to wear blue, and when in the game could give you a lot of different options. Josh vs D. Johnson would be the battle of the negative vertical guys.

Toss in Dodson, Orton, Perry and Hoodie, the 2010 team had one hell of a bench!
I'm not sure you know what the word "premature" means ... that makes no sense in the context you just used it.
Oh how I love when folks like you nitpick a post, for verbiage and such......What a sad existence....

YOU ARE CORRECT the term that I used was not used in the proper manner. THANK YOU SO MUCH for pointing it out. I hope that my poor choice in wording did not steal your joy from your day. I look forward to you review of future posts, I need all the help I can get, because sentence structure, punctuation, and so on is vitally important to me on a FREAKING MESSAGE BOARD.

Only one way to settle this: Hood/Haralson/Krebs VS Hawkins/Willis/Floreal. Who ya got? and Why?
