No one saw that coming.
Medvedev is maddening. Capable of incredible tennis at times and also just scuffing it around for a few games. Gets to EVERYTHING but doesn't always do much with it. I know he's won a major but really hasn't maintained that level since then. Seems to be slipping down the rankings although still a top 10 player. My biggest beef with him is that he doesn't exploit openings very often, just very comfortable 3' behind the baseline and hitting ground strokes for days. Most of the time, his steadiness will allow him to prevail over lesser opponents but he's not going to beat Alcaraz, Skinner, et al staying behind the baseline for 5 sets very often. His game is too passive, in other words. I've seen him get a bit more aggressive and come in on short balls consistently and he's very hard to beat when he does that. Doesn't do it nearly enough, imo.

Only thing he does with agression is pick his but and smash his racket. š¤£

Great to see some fresh American blood causing damage in Majors. With the careers of the big 3 coming to an end, perhaps some American players can start winning some majors.
And a side note, but it aggravates the hell out of me that Russian players do not get their countries flag next to their name on the broadcasts.
I'm no commie lover, and flipped off plenty of them in the Navy, but WTF does some Russian tennis player have to do with Putin and Russia. Give me a friggin break. If you want to ban them from playing in your tournament because they are Russian, then go ahead and do it. That would actually show some balls. But not displaying their flag next to their name is some weak ass shit.

Just got done watching Joker vs. Alcarez. Love him or hate him, he's the best Tennis player to ever pick up a racket. What he did in that match at 37 years old is mindboggling. One of the best athletes ever.

I like Shelton a lot but I wish he would quit screaming letās go every time he scores a point. Seems childish to me. Do you have to pump yourself up every time? Play like Sinner does. Go about your business and act like youāve been there before.
I agree. While we are at it letās get rid of grunting and screaming when you hit the ball as well. Have been playing tennis for 40 years and it is absolutely not necessary.
