Anyone watching? I'm not a comic guy so don't know the Penquins origins but this is a really good show. It's a gangster series set in the DC universe. There's no mention of Batman or even Bruce Wayne even though this takes place right after The Batman, which I thought was a good movie. Looking forward to tonights episode that I'll watch here in a bit.

Yes, really enjoying this show. To your point, it stands by itself regardless of whether one likes Batman or superheroes/comic books. It's very gritty.

Collin Farrel and the mother from How I Met Your Mother are awesome.

The female boss steals the show. It seems far removed from comic books…vaguely referring to Gotham…Arkham, but there are no super heroes

Love it so far. Farrell and Cristin Miliotti (sp?) are killing (literally) it. I guess Burgess Merideth isn't waddling through that door. Not that we need him to.

As much as I liked DC as a kid, I just can't give them any more of my time or money. They've wasted so much if it over the years with the endless reboots and tired old tales, not to mention butchering their characters and stories trying to gain viewership. I've enjoyed maybe 3 of the more recent 2 decades of DC movies, and that's being generous.

They just can't put it together.

Marvel's heading the same direction, though, so there's a good chance I won't be watching another mainstream comic book movie again.

Fantastic series finale. This is going to flow right into The Batman 2. Like The Batman, I loved the dark and gritty feel of this show. I liked how it didn't need any mention of Batman even though he's obviously out there. Colin Ferrell makes for a great DC villain. Give me more Matt Reeves Batman anything please. I thought the 2022 movie was flat out awesome and this show upped the ante.

The 22 Batman was a good movie that went for the realism route as much as possible considering it's batman. Just a Terrible Batman portrayal /actor. No need for a Emo Batman.

Penguin - is like a hybrid of Sapranos an Breaking Bad with Batman names . Best part about Penguin is it's only comic book trait was the names.

I have being doing that very thing, the comic book and Batman connection has caused me from starting to watch it several times. I was going to watch it, but started Brotherhood instead. I finished the 3 seasons f it last night, might give it a look. I have a policy, give it one episode, it I do not get into it, on to the next one.
Movies I give 20 minutes and either keep watching, or pick another.

They took Tony Soprano and made him the Penguin. I can't stop seeing the similarities in the voice and tone. But yeah, it's a really good series. Thought it was cool how they started it based on the end of The Batman movie.

Glad I took your advice. 5 episodes in, really enjoying it. Never would have thought it was like that.
