12-team Playoff Format expected to start in 2026

I am fine with the bye but if the 4th champ is a 9 and 3 pac 12 champ they don't deserve a bye over the 5 seed 10 and 2 Kentucky. For example. Let's dream big people lol
Doesn’t sound too bad considering the 5 would play the 12 first round, then have to face the soft Pac-12 Champion. Sounds like a semifinal spot.

It was bound to happen eventually. No telling how many billions of $$$ this will mean for the interested parties.

Great at least 4 SEC teams will always be playing for a championship, maybe more certain years.
That’s when the whining will begin. “It’s not fair” and if the super conferences happens they might have a point. If the SEC expands to 20 teams and so does the B1G well……your playoff will pretty much be that every year.

I like the idea of expansion of the tournament. But just could easily see how some school just won’t have a chance. Football isn’t basketball. In football he with the bigger Ath Dept and budget usually wins handily.

Any UK fan that doesn't like this doesn't have UK as their main concern

6 programs have played for the title since playoffs happened. We have very little chance of ever playing for one with current setup.

Are we going to ve shoe ins? Or even a lot better chance? No. But we damn sure have a better chance now. Just wish it would go in effect this year.
