Please Pope, please, I beg you, zone Arkansas tomorrow. Cal has never figured out how to penetrate a zone, his team can’t shoot from the perimeter and they have better athletes than we do so I bet their game plan will be to drive the ball.

That’s because they had Kenyon Martin’s length to deny wall and bledsoes passes.
Cal said in his pre-game presser that they actually worked on the 1-3-1 to use against us. I find that so hard to believe.
They play a 1-3-1 against us we’ll score 150
Almonor will set up in the corners
Brea and Robinson will set up on the high wings
I actually don't know if I would do this solely because its unnecessary. We're a better team than Arkansas and can beat them straight up. Play a zone too much and that gives them a much better chance to kill us on the glass, which I think is their only path to victory
When Cal was here he never worked on zone even enough to be ready to face it. He kept saying that was because there wasn't enough time in the whole season to become good at man-to-man and also become good at zone.
But now suddenly five days of practice are good enough for him to get it handled.
I'm not sure if he means he used five days of practice to teach his 2-guard team how to run their 101st-ranked offense against our 70th-ranked defense inasmuch as we may show 1-3-1, or if it means he used five days of practice to teach his guys how to defend against our sharpshooter-heavy, 4th-ranked offense by running a defense that only works great against teams that can't shoot, or whether he meant both.

The gameplan we had vs Tennessee should suffice. Under all ball screens, sag off into lanes on pick and rolls and close out in shooting…and if they want to chuck 45 3s…for for it
It was used against the Zags late in the game early in the season but have not been used since.
Arkansas only chance is to drive the ball and draw fouls.
A 1-3-1 zone would help prevent this.
