••OFFICIAL MISSISSIPPI STATE VS KENTUCKY GAME THREAD••

Couple that with the fact that we had to court his ass for months, years even, while he seemingly tried to find elsewhere to play (UofL). Practically had to call in a favor in the 11th hour to secure him as I recall.
This part isn’t true . If he wanted to play for Louisville what stopped him? I don’t think he even took any other visits so how was he trying to find somewhere else to play ?

Reminds me of 2015 when Booker and Ulis came off the bench and it cost us an undefeated season and a championship

I don't like this theory. The twins were pretty damn good, and we went undefeated to the Final4 BECAUSE of their play. You give more minutes to Ulis and Booker as freshman and we're dropping games.

Booker also went into a horrific shooting slump to end the season.

This, is not that. Edwards is damn near putrid.

Im not sold on it mattering who starts the actual game, but starting the 2nd half you should be rolling with the guys playing the best. Edwards is not earning starter minutes playing actual games. Idgaf about practice. Anyone can look good in practice. What do you do when the actual lights come on.

In the case of Justin Edwards it's about 25% good and 75% bad.
When I say start, I’m referring to both.

Well he isn’t a true pg lol . He wasn’t even a PG in HS or AAU . I’m not sure why Cal is forcing him to be it here .
He isn’t…but he is….bc it’s what he projects as at the next level. He isn’t a good enough shooter to be a 2g and he isn’t big enough to be a 3 in a 3g lineup.

HS and AAU he could just use his muscle and strength combined w a good first step to dominate less athletic ppl. Cant do that in college or the NBA do he better learn to play PG as a PG.

Yeah but u didn't mention if not for the Harrisons we lose to notre Dame.

Like cal was gonna let ulis and Booker do anything different down the stretch.

And u have like 100 teams so ur fine.

Unless this was all smokescreens and scuttlebutt, he was strongly considering going there. KP hired his family to help secure him.

Now maybe at the end of the day, none of that mattered. But he sure made Kentucky sweat it out.

I agree with that but he shouldn’t be the Pg when Reed or Dilly is on the court with him . Both of them are better natural PGs

Mitchell needs to get the ball more under the basket tonight because St plays below the rim and can't stop him.

Mitchel with some great midrange touch. I dont understand why people dont want him in there, when a lot of our freshman make such boneheaded plays.

He never was going there . People just thought it would happen because his grandad that’s it .

That's the thing, he's just not a true PG. At least not in his mind. He's a combo guard. And we don't need that when we have Reeves and Shep on the floor to make shots.
Just responded to the same post. But I agree. He isn’t a polished true PG (in the since of Pass first ulis type) but that’s what he has to be at the next level bc he isn’t a good enough shooter to be a true Combo or 2g. And isn’t tall enough to be a 3g….so he will play the 1 the rest of his life. He better learn how to take care of the ball
