    Alvin Brooks III hired

Highly doubt it. Those guys are both in line for lengthy careers as executives in the NBA. No reason for them yo come back to the mess of college athletics.

    Hmm. Hubert in Lexington

The only way to get market value in NIL is to enter the portal. I'm sure there is a large part of this that has to do with NIL too, not just best fit for basketball.

    Alvin Brooks III hired

Yes, he is a VP with Memphis. He has future GM written all over him. I'm not proposing a former UK athlete as future AD at UK< but if they ever went in that direction again, I'd be a huge proponent of Prince.

    Alvin Brooks III hired

He is...he was the initial person I responded about and said I doubt he comes back to the college ranks. They the reply was saying that he thought there was another former player our west in a front office role, but I'm not sure who that good be. 'Buke is the color guy for the Warriors, but...

    Alvin Brooks III hired

Not sure who the other play is you might be referring too. The other former player in an exec position is Prince as a VP with the Grizzlies. I just don't think any of these guys would want to leave a job like that to come work in the current state of college basketball with the NIL/transfer...

    Alvin Brooks III hired

He's already in the front office at OKC. I think he has future GM/VP etc. written all over him at the pro level. I don't see him going back to the college ranks.

    John Welch

He and the Fresno State coach are very good friends and worked together previously for a number of years. He also worked at Fresno for 7 years previously.

    NIL tweet for JQ

If I'm an incoming freshman and money is the most important factor, I don't sign until late. Wait for all of the coaching changes, transfers, etc. Schools will be much more wiling to pay top dollar then imo.

Adidas is obviously buying Kansas and IU players, where does all this Baylor NIL come from?

If you add in their medical school, Baylor's endowment is the 7th largest among power programs, so the donors are there. Stanford, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Duke, Vandy and USC are the only schools ahead of them...and those alumni most likely don't care as much about sports as Baylor's do...

Has a Duke or UNC player

Yeah….he was SEC all freshman his one year here. If I remember correctly (and I might not be), I think he had similar size and game to Julius Randle.

Has a Duke or UNC player

He blew his knee out over the summer in 2001 and was on his way to recovery and then injured it again goofing around in the locker room at Midnight Madness in 2001, so he was out for the season his sophomore year. He was then kicked off the team prior to the start of the 2002 season and...

    Jordan Burks to Arkansas?

While I don’t disagree with the type of player Cal recruited, you’d be silly to think that the same thing wouldn’t happen with Pope if he left. Players go to schools to play for a coach. They will come here to play for Pope. Now Pope will recruit a different type of guy and make sure they know...

UK Women's Basketball lands commitment from North Carolina transfer 5 star Teonni Key

Yep…I’m sure her injury has played a major role in her productivity. She has played 2 full seasons since missing her freshman year.

    Potential way to Fix NIL

The issue is that you cannot restrict NIL. You can do profit sharing, but that has zero effect on their ability to earn NIL. It’s been the perfect storm…NIL and unlimited transfers without sitting out are probably 2 of the 5 biggest off the court changes in college basketball history and they...

UK Women's Basketball lands commitment from North Carolina transfer 5 star Teonni Key

He needs to fill a roster so I have no issues with getting her. My post was in response to her being a MAA in 2021. At some point your HS rankings don’t matter and your college production does. Averaging 2.4 and 2.7 ppg in her 2 seasons most likely means she isn’t an impact player but...

UK Women's Basketball lands commitment from North Carolina transfer 5 star Teonni Key

Yeah, but she also averaged 2.7ppg in 23-24. That’s probably more of an indication of the type of player she is now. That being said, he’s brought in some great talent and having size off the bench is never a bad thing.

One basketball Mother’s opinion if I had a son like Reed….

It’s a tough decision for the kid. If he stays, I’ll be shocked..happy but shocked. The injury thing doesn’t really come into play for me when it comes to money. It’s his draft status that that is the big one. There is a possibility that he could come back, have a really good year, and his...

How Did 1989 Coach Search Play Out?

Yep, something like, ‘We will win and we will win right away. Whether that shows up in wins and losses is yet to be seen. But the Kentucky fans will walk away knowing they saw a winner.”

    Ulis staying??

He was a student assistant working on his bachelors degree. If he has not completed his undergrad studies yet, nothing prevents home from keeping that role. If he graduates and starts grad school, he is eligible to be a graduate assistant.

    Reed and NIL

There is zero possibility he earns more next year than as the 3rd pick in the draft. Endorsements are not going to just go away. As the 7th pick, his salary would be $5.7 million and that doesn’t include any endorsements. Let’s say that all works out to $7 million. The biggest thing for me...
