This situation with sharpe is why fans are turning on cal.

Don't get why so many are upset. IF he doesn't play....I will, but if he does, you just got a potential top 5 Lottery pick to reclass, join your program and possibly be added to the team instead of never getting him on campus. I still believe if Sharpe were to get on the court with this particular team, it makes them a heavy Final Four favorite and places them among top National Championship contenders. An elite wing helps Grady, TyTy, Wheeler, Mintz, etc...and opens things up for Oscar as well. It's all this team is missing IMO.

BTW, I'll say what I've said all along PLAY HIM. He's got enough credibility and respect from NBA teams that him playing will do no damage to his Draft status. They've seen enough to know what he's capable of and if anything, being a competitor and competing/helping his team make a deep run or more at UK would only enhance his value. Get why UK is slow playing/covering things with "conditioning" but he's been issued his jersey, he's working out, and I'm expecting him to play....but wouldn't be shocked if it was against Mississippi State this week as a debut despite hoping it would be tomorrow. It's time to start pushing forward and for those concerned about chemistry.....I can live with a 6'5 45% from 3pt caliber wing with a 48 inch vertical joining UK for rest of season and cutting into some mins of other players.

Half this board is full of cult like activity, whether it is the Cal worshipers or the extreme Cal haters. Hell, it can be argued we are part of a cult with the unhealthy obsession over a game played by college kids. Most people on this board have unreal expectations because they have not succeed in their own life and have to live vicariously through 18-22 year olds dribbling a basketball.
And you're part of the name-calling, insulting crowd. That's about 80% of the board.

Cal just said he'll play him if he's ready to play. Translation: he's not playing.

I understand where you are coming from. It’s sucks. I want him to play and win a championship FOR US.

but at the end of the day it’s Cals job to get these kids here. The top kids are coddled and sometimes that can get to their head. If a kid decides he doesn’t want to play that’s not on our coach
So the kid decides if he’s going to play or not? Kick him off the team!

I’ll s not Cal, it’s some of our idiotic fans. It’s embarrassing how ridiculous some of our fans are. They act like they know every thing going on in practice.

the issue is over time they learned Cal - and what goes on practice doesn't override what he wants to do with a player

Just another black mark on the once proud program. We are used to it by now. Some even happy with Cal only getting shooters and not top talent and the talent staying a few years like everywhere else does at other program. Self always has guys staying 3 years where we get for a year and wonder why self has also carried ku to the all times wins but some here wont wake up and smell the roses.
Another dumb ass post

Folks, we need to adjust our attitudes and language towards one another or thread are going to get locked and people put on probation. The vitriol has gotten out of hand. Disagreements are great, but attacks are not. Please dial it back some, wildcat friends.

Note to imposter fans. I will find out who you are and call your mothers. Good luck getting the keys for this weekend.
Does this mean that we've seen the last of 4ballercalpinnochiosfan?

????

You alright?
That’s a subjective question that leaves a lot of wiggle room. Alright relative to what?
Nah. I’m good. Keep talking out both sides of your mouth. It’s cool.
It’s physically impossible to talk out both sides of your mouth. And if I was talking you wouldn’t hear me anyway unless you’re this lot lizard sitting next to me and I’m pretty sure my wife doesn’t have an account here.

This may be true, however if the NCAA applied rules evenly self would also have had 2 final fours vacated and zero national championships. Then he would top cal as most overrated coach of all time in my opinion. But unfortunately rules are only rules if the person enforcing them decides they are.

This is very true and Cal has double the Final Fours of Self...Cal is definitely the better overall coach by any neutral person. Tubby boy hates Cal and would not even rank him as #9 on his modern day coaches list a few weeks back...leaving #9 blank.

I will also add KU has been picking up wins on UK since like 1986 or so (100+ or so in that time frame). I am not sure how many they have picked up on UK since Cal has been here but I doubt it was all 100 or anything close to that.

We know nothing that’s going on behind the scenes or what was told to Cal. What minds have been changed. What plans have been messed up. Not like we have to have him to succeed this year. Could help or could hurt chemistry.

Stop with the chemistry bullsht. It's not true.

You don’t know that. Happens all the time. Other players lose time and sulk. Can become a cancer to the team. We have zero evidence either way but both directions are possible.
But Cal has told us over and over how these dudes just want to win. How they’re not about themselves and their stats. If that’s the case, and dudes like Wheeler, Mintz, and Grady recognize they’re not NBA caliber guys, then chemistry shouldn’t be an issue at all. They should know this dude makes the TEAM better.

You're grasping at straws and you aren't even thinking about this. You're smarter than this.

Think about Collins, Hopkins, Ware, Allen. How many minutes have they played? Would Sharpe play worse than any three of them? Come on.

People who are enjoying the season, don’t give these children your attention. It isn’t worth your time or energy.

Drama drama drama. Not to mention the losing like we never lost before. After the worst losing season folks were amped to get the first elite recruit in some time. Now? We don’t know if he plays this year next year or the highly possible never. It is a vicious rollercoaster of revolving door of players and in since 2015 subpar UK results. I don’t know who’s being played, us, cal or what and I don’t care. I want stability in this program. As a life long fan 47 years I still own a share of season tickets I want consistency and stability.

instead we are set up for another offseason of unknowns about a roster that was shaping up to be worth another shot. We re gonna get into may after a likely early out and it’s gonna be is sharpe staying after 0 years or is he gone? Sitting on pins and needles. I speak for a lot of fans when I say this has by far worn the fan base thin. Apathy has set in. Our tickets. 4 rows up behind the visitor bench and scorers table. You’re on espn the entire game. 4 home games this year those seats have been empty. I even offered to give them to my buddy for a game and he said he couldn’t go he had something better to do. What was it? Go to dinner with his high school buddy. He could have taken him to the game but didn’t. I mean really? You don’t want seats on the floor basically? I’ve sensed where things were going for a while now but this year when I couldn’t give those tickets away the reality set in that fans have better things to do.

it’s unfortunate because UK basketball has been a way of life for central Kentuckians for generations. The love for it is passed down from grandpas to grand sons. Fathers to daughters etc. The apathy now though is palpable and the floor is about to fall out if this sharpe situation goes the way it seems to be developing.

Yea. No other school in college basketball is facing that. Oh wait....my mistake...EVERY dang blue blood & top schools are experiencing the same thing. It's not Cal!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN????

Almost universally schools are losing young talent to draft or transfers to the portal. Duke, Kansas, UNC, Nova, Auburn....etc...all have in common roster uncertainty for the following season sometimes well into the summer.

Good grief! I sware some of you know nothing about what's going on & then make a post like this. And others in the same boat agree with you. Sad!! Come on people! Get in the know before posting!

EDIT: Nevermind....I see you're older & I respect that. However, I suggest you understand no program has the stability of the 1960s-90's programs unless you're an NAIA school. I don't like it but that's what it is now & it's NOT A CAL thing.
