Absolutely. Can’t believe you’d shell out $76M to end up with Elko. Guess they used up all their money with that. Should’ve just stayed with Jimbo if that’s what you are going to end up with.
I’m just confused by A&M, their fans say stoops is a shit hire then turn around and want Elko, who is a mini-Stoops. Except all of Elko’s success is in the ACC and not the SEC.
Kind of makes it sound like Stoops said no. Their hire isn’t exactly a home run.
Someone on HOB claims to have a source in UK... claims coaches met last night at Stoops house, and basically Marrow talked him out of it.
I do think there were some issues that came up last night, that gave Stoops pause for concern. Maybe the fan base uproar made him think twice. And you know after paying Jimbo, Stoops buyout (or any coach) was not going to be $75m.. At least at UK, his buyout is around $50m currently. And when you are paying child support and alimony, that can be a big issue.
100%. I was expecting Dabo, Day, Harbaugh, Bear Bryant, or Don Shula after the response over Stoops.
In no universe is Elko a better hire than Stoops
