Slow day at work here was thumbing through the thread about Cal calling ARKY the university of Calipari and got to thinking. I know Cal is trying his best to lose the few supporters that still think he was good for this program but in a hypothetical world how would you feel if Cal would've done this instead.
I despise the man but no doubt 2010-2017 was a blast as a Cat fan.
We all know Cal had the option to accept a ambassador role following last season or stay coaching. How would the fan base feel if instead of taking the ARK job and dismantling UK on the way out if he instead said
I'm getting old my methods aren't working anymore Im stepping down as coach and accepting a ambassador role with the Athletic department, we then hired Mark Pope and Cal is actively supporting the program being positive to CMP and things like that.
Had Cal rubbed you to far by time he left or would the perception be totally different?
I think I would have a lot more respect for the man for sure. He couldnt have handled it too much worse than he did TBH
