Now that’s it’s confirmed he’s coming back, it’s obvious Cal is calling the shots. Season can’t be much worse than this past season. So at the end of next season, they can easily say things improved, new methods are working, etc, and again it will be up to Cal to come back for another year… or at that point feel like he has fixed his image and they can say he brought uk back, and he retires. Cal will be here until he says he’s done.

We didn’t need this to know that, it’s been patently obvious that’s how the program’s run since the day that ludicrous contract extension was signed in 2019. The only thing that matters is what Cal wants. From what I’ve heard, Cal won’t even talk to Mitch outside of maybe one or two meetings per year …much less listen to anything he has to say.

We have an AD who allowed himself to be totally neutered by a coach.

Oh it can and it will barring all 5 of shep/Z/Theiro/wagner/Edwards returning. Even then with cal coaching I don’t think the season plays out much better. He can’t coach!!!!
