Official Steph Curry is GOAT thread

We will never know but I think all of the games were competitive - didn’t dray only miss game 5 and maybe game 6?

It was actually only one game, looking at it. So maybe not the biggest deal then. Although GSW was beating them fairly easily up until that suspension..

Yeah we will see at the end of the season I guess. I'm betting Hali and Lamelo are putting up the same stats, with their teams being right around GSW.. good to decent teams, but not real contenders.

Steph is in no way better than SGA lol. I don't think you realize how good SGA is right now.

Curry will finish off the top10 list this year. That's my prediction. Will he catch fire and have some 40pt games? Sure. Is he the greatest shooter ever? Probably. But there will be plenty of guards who will have better seasons than he will.

So far this season:

Hali - 25/5/13 with 2 TOs - 3rd in the East
SGA - 30/7/6 with 2.5 steals and 2 TOs - 5th in the West
Curry - 30/4/4 with 4 TOs - 7th in the West.

Curry is currently 12th in fantasy production, and there's 4 or 5 guards who are having better seasons to far. Lamelo is just a smidge behind Curry at the moment.

Nah you’re just mad b/c after this season you know and I know LeBron will always rank ahead of Steph on the all-time great list and this thread was a sham.
We’re only 25% through the year. Lebron will take 20 games off, and Steph will only get stronger. Besides, the Warriors are straight trash without Curry. The Lakers are at least functional without Lebron.

No they aren't lol. Those lakers aren't winning shit with Anthony Davis and Austin Reeves.

The Warriors were practically a .500 win team when Curry didn't play last year.

You live in LA LA land when it comes to the NBA.

As for lebron taking 20 games off.. yeah it's because he's 6"9, has played for 20 seasons, and actually uses his body to play basketball, unlike curry who spends 2/3rds of the game roaming around the 3pt line.. who btw.. will also miss 20 games himself. No way curry is playing 70 games lol.

The number of games Curry has played each of the last four seasons is 5, 63, 64 and 56. Hardly an iron man. I also notice that Curry's per game assists (4.5) and steals (0.7) are at a career low level. He is just a scorer anymore.

Steph Curry with *another* clutch performance, as he scores 16 points in the fourth on 7-7 shooting and gets three blocks (!) in a win over Brooklyn. I needed him to hit one more three to get to 40 points (or get fouled twice late). He has scored 37 or more points against all 29 opponents; he needs 40 against Brooklyn, Indiana, San Antonio (he did score 44 in a post-season game) and Detroit. His team is such garbage without him. Tonight's game will reignite the greatness in Steph Curry.

Lebron James has scored 40+ against all 30 NBA teams; with that said, he has played no fewer than 20 games against every NBA team. His last opponent was the Clippers, when he dropped 48 in a blowout loss (39th career game).

Kobe Bryant has scored 40+ points against all 29 opponents that he has faced, but never faced the Lakers, which is the difference between him and Lebron.

Michael Jordan scored 45+ against every opponent except for Toronto, Dallas (43), Grizzlies, and the Bulls. He did not score 40+ against the Raptors (19 games), Grizzlies (9 games), and Bulls (6 games).

I have no idea what you said here but if you are bragging about curry playing against Brooklyn then you’re grasping for straws over here.

Where were you the game before where Curry was horrible in a loss to the Clippers who were without Paul George? Curry was 5 for 17 on the night including 3 for 13 from three point range. Curry's steals and assists are at career low levels this season as he is showing his age.

I mean, Curry is asked to carry a trash team; they would 2012 Bobcats bad without him. He’s 35, carrying a garbage squad, and averages 30 ppg, with near 50-40-90 shooting. Klay is washed; Wiggins doesn’t care; CP3 is old; Green is unhinged, and Steph isn’t God mode every night. A playoff run would be insane for this squad. His defense is down a little and his turnovers are up because he’s having to do too much. He needs to be shooting 25-30 times per game.

Steph needs to score 40+ against the Nets, Pistons, Pacers and Spurs to join Kobe and Lebron in scoring 40+ against every NBA team that he has faced.

For the 3rd time.. when Curry was out last year year, Golden State won HALF of its games.

I'm sorry that your upset because Golden State doesn't have a super team anymore through various cheap contracts and players like KD taking pay cuts to win a ring.. but that doesn't mean the rest of the team sucks. You're just not used to Curry not having an abundance of riches around him. News flash, thats how it's SUPPOSED to be.

You take the top player off of all 30 teams, including Curry and Golden State... and Golden State is not only making the playoffs, but they are probably a 3 or 4 seed.

Steph Curry went 0-8 from the three, which ends an astounding 268 game streak (!) with at least one three point shot made. But he made up for it with eight assists, rebounding, steals and blocks, and was a team-leading +14. Finding ways to impact the game when the jump shot isn't falling. Yes, the others stepped up tonight. I feel sorry for the Celtics. It's never good to be the next opponent when Steph goes 0'fer. Remember, Steph hit a career high 13 threes after missing all ten threes in the previous game.

Dang! No point in checking my SGP tonight.

Celtics are the equivalent of the cowboys in this era. Tatum is never going to be the guy like dak.
Not a Tatum guy at all. He was awful in the 2022 Finals and was awful last night. The Celtics scored 16 points in the last 11 minutes of that game. Even the Pistons would have beaten them. I could not care less what you do in the RS if you do not perform in the playoffs (Harden).

Curry had a great offensive game last night.. but he was still a total liability on defense. And players not only know that, but they call him out on it (see Jaylen Brown).

Cowherd had some good points in it today, he mentioned how opponents would NEVER dare say that to MJ or Kobe. But that's because Curry really is just a 3pt specialist. For however great he is there, a lot of his game is running around the 3pt line, never mixing it up, not playing defense.

Not a lot of players "fear" Curry and for good reason.

And once again, the Warriors are basically a .500 team without him over the last 2 years. They are clearly capable of winning games without Steph.

Side note ric bucher was on there and admitted half the teams didn’t take the in season tournament seriously and Kobe would have never let the lakers hang that banner.

I think it's silly how much they celebrated.. but I do think teams are going to continue to hang this banner going forward. It's just because it's Lebron and the Lakers who did it first that it was a little extra scrutinized.

With Chris Paul on the team, they have basically taken ball handling duties off Curry's plate. Paul and Green are the primary ball distributors. Curry can concentrate on what he does best, scoring. Unfortunately, a bunch of over the hill stars doesn't seem to be a good team build and Curry can't score enough to make up for his bad defense.

What do you mean? There's no 5th or 6th HOF players to give him so he can win games?! The audacity!

Curry is like a HOF Cornerback or a running back.. it's great to have, but you need other pieces first. Lebron can carry a team on his back, because Lebron is Peyton Manning. Curry is Peyton Hillis.

No, just no.

Steph is 12 for his last 17 on threes, including 8-13 tonight. In his last three home games, he has shot 20-32 from three. 7 Assists, only 2 TO's and a block. That said, the Wizards are AWFUL.

Tatum is mad overrated.

Steph Curry gets snubbed as an all-star starter. But his team is garbage (although the refs helped the Kings out late), and SGA is on a much better squad. I do not understand the infatuation with Luka.

Quiet month for the ol' Steph Curry slurp fest thread, huh?

Curry also wasn't snubbed, he's simply not good enough this year. Every single stat took a hit of his. You don't generally get to back to the all-star game when your stats revert. Luka and SGA have more PPG and rebounds, and their teams are higher in the standings.

Also, congrats to Lebron for Twenty All-star games! Does Curry have even half of that yet?

This aged like warm milk - Luka has 41 at halftime tonight 16/21 and 5/8 from 3 - the infatuation is he can score but also makes his teammates better - he has no one around him except for kyrie who isn’t in prime.
