Dilly does some head scratching stuff but then looks so good you understand why he tries crazy stuff. He goes all out and is always engaged though and I love that.
That's Friday. I fully expect us to be sluggish to start that game.

We've had plenty of freshman who haven't looked great in their first game either lol.
Hopefully we put 2 good half’s together, haven’t really done that yet. If we do we will win by 60.

They are above most of the teams we usually play this early. They aren’t good good but a solid test early.
We did against KySt. But that's an exhibition though. First game that counts at Rupp. Probably was some nerves there and some excitement jitters from the first real opponent.

FWIW according to Kenpom that team they were playing was 305th. Ours was 178th.
Of course who knows where those teams end up end of the season but I think our scrub was a bit less of a scrub then there's.

Which is what I said. We still played a scrub....but they played popcorn U.
We have really good guards, all with a different type of game. Reeves is a scorer & experienced, DJ is hustle and aggression, Dilly is quick & explosive, & Reed moves the ball & is steady. Fun to watch.
Edit: I’m a dummy. In other news LSU women got romped in their opener. Nobody cares about women’s Bball but they lost.

Duke is playing Dartmouth on ACC network if anyone wants to see them early. Easy win but still.
It was like 59-15 at halftime. I figured they would’ve beat them by more than 41
I’m not just looking at the first game though. It’s abundantly clear that:
1) he’s going to be a 30% three-point shooter at best
2) he’s prone to play hero ball
3) while he has plenty of energy and stamina, he doesn’t have quickness and can’t get by his man in a half court set
Dilly and Shepherd are far better shooters and seem to be better at getting others involved. They also play great defense.
Not only that but like here's the thing:
There is no scenario where DJ Wagner doesn't play a significant role on this team this season.
So regardless of people's feelings about certain players and playing time and whatnot, they may as well hop on the train and enjoy the ride.
The four guards(Wagner, dillingham, Sheppard, &reeves) should all be major contributors and get the bulk of the mins. Thinking one should get mins is crazy
I'm sure they played backups. But we had people freaking out because we were just up by 8 at half. Which was a simliar margin to other games tonight.

She's the only women's HC name I even know lol I think the LSU coach is a blonde woman, but I couldn't tell you her name.
