Had my first Migraine yesterday. Seemed to be an Aura Migraine as I thought I was stroking out. Started having the patterns on my right eye that wouldn't go away. My whole brain was out of whack, felt like I was in a fog after some drinks and two doses of Nyquil. Totally out of the loop. Started having trouble coming up with words as I was talking with some people, and as I was futzing around on facebook, I couldn't articulate names or even recognize them. Like they felt foreign. Started mixing up my pets names. It was like an out of body experience and things felt foreign. Truly terrifying.
I was honestly worried it was some form of stroke (Learned that Migraines and strokes are kind of similar). Thankfully I spoke to family members who have the same thing. they said they get the exact same thing I just experienced and other symptoms would be coming. Sure enough my right arm went numb for 10 minutes, just like they said it would. then it kind of went away but still had the accompanying headache well after I went to bed.
Anyone experience these? Any home remedies? They run in the family so I'm a bit concerned I will start getting them regularly. My mom gets them almost monthly.
Two things that could have caused it. Stress from work and I did spend a completely inordinate amount of time playing a PC game over the weekend. I'm talking close to 12-14 hours over 2 days (got in the zone), and haven't done that in like 10 years. Figuring staring at a screen that long can't help.
