We pretty much went on cruise control. The game was never in doubt. I call that a good night.
Offensively we continue to dominate. We played somewhat better defensively, those last 6 State points I'm not counting as the game was out of hand.
Bigs made improvement, but the defense is still God Awful. DJ is not a PG. Edwards is not a factor. Put Burks in over Edwards. Reed needs to shoot more, but he could mitigate the low scoring by getting his head in the game defensively.
Will we beat anyone in SEC by 15 plus this season?

Here's who needs all the minutes they can handle:
Shep, Reeves, Tre (We can debate on Adou being here, if he ever comes back).
I'm not sold on who our PG should be, and not quite sold on who our center should be, although UGO made a case tonight. Heck I'm not even sure if putting Shep at PG isn't ultimately a better play going forward.
Edit: We can remove Tre when Edwards or DJ proves consistent and smart enough. Until then, we need Tre to offset what is otherwise, bad basketball when those guys are often in.

Exactly I dunno why people see this as a negative.
There's a skill in not fouling and there's a skill in drawing fouls. You can't just deduct the difference in free throws and act like we didn't play our part in causing that difference lol
Burks is worse than Edwards. We need at least one of Adou or Z to come back to make a legit title run.
And he throws up his hands everytime he gets burned on defense, acting like he had nothing to do with it.
This wouldn't be the case if not for Cal's charitable giving away an 18 point lead by playing a player who is simply not good enough to play.
Last 4 minutes we were like not even at practice speed.
Didn't like our pace or energy on defense in the 2nd half. But I'll take a double digit win. GG.

First half they showed some improvements. The second half they kinda of reverted back to what they have been. If they would fix the rebounding issues they would trim 10-15 points off what they are giving up
Yet Cal still gets these kids to win and play pretty well. That’s gotta count for something coaching. Nobody else does it.
Defense was lackadaisical in the second half . It doesn’t help that the arena is so damn dead . No kind of home court advantage where the players are feeding of of the fans

There was nothing wrong with DJ's play tonight. He is taking the shots that he needs to take and he isn't forcing shots or being selfish.

We have to figure out what were doing at point. DJ isn't making the improvements IMO.
You said we got lucky to win against Mizzou now this. You’re a contrarian troll with horrible takes game in and game out. We just dropped 90 on a top 10 defensive team. Quad 1 win in the books in a game we led by double digits the vast majority of.
I don't see how anyone is complaining about this game. State just knocked off UT. We were up nearly 20 at halftime. Ho hum second half but a 13 point win is pretty pretty good. We doubled cover IIRC.
On top of that State played good as well. Defense was better...poor second half but strong first half. Baby steps. Need to get rebounding under control. Easier said that done. Thiero would help...hope he comes back, starting to get nervous.
