Blew one as soon as the game started back. Try to make it look better.
Especially with how physical they are on defense. When was the last time Duke or Kansas had 11 fouls to their physical opponent’s 6 with 12 minutes left to play on their home floor?
They could call multiple fouls on every trip just for impeding cutters.
Only 2 UK FT's at the 8:16 mark, while UT was in double digits.
Worked out down the stretch. Imagine it got pointed out a few thousand times.
Should not have to be pointed out, UT is known for being very physical yet they let all those arm bars, and reaching slide then call UK for a touch foul.
Referees are honest wonderful people that never affect games.

No joke, refs could call a foul on Tenn every possession just on reach ins. Don't get me started on no fouls on a couple of those three pointers were they didn't let the player land
Evan Jay said there were 2 early fouls in the 2nd half on Tenn and one should been an AND 1 on a 3 ball.
On ball screens alone, almost the entire UT team should really foul out by halftime...
- On offense, Milicic (and Phillips) set screens by extending their arms to push/hold the opposing defender.
- On defense, as you said, they hold every cutter.

They could call a foul on every dribbler who drives by his man and holds him away with his off arm. They shouldn't let the offensive player get away with so much.
I still maintain our fans look like whiny crybabies always complaining about the refs. UK fans should be above that for the most part.

First half they foul Brea on a drive with no call and they knock the ball out of bounds but still gives it to UT. Think that was Vladimir standing there cheating us on that call. They was allowed to play physical inside and out and we wasn't. And being on our home floor makes it even more crazy. A lot to overcome with the refs and injuries, not sure how we done it. Daily is never good for us and paired with Vladimir we knew it wasn't going to be easy.

I wonder what Tennessee fans think about the phantom foul called early on Williams (I believe) when he literally wasn't close to Zeigler? It was as bad of a call as I've ever seen. I haven't seen a bigger 2 shot gift all year.
The game we had with Arkansas Adou had at least 5-7 moving screens. As our guys would go over or under a screen he would move into them and just start pushing them away from the guy they were guarding. It was pretty blatant.
I've never understood when people make comments like this... so, fans shouldn't complain about incompetency of officials? I get that every fan is biased, but that doesn't change the fact that officials are often TERRIBLE
Do you have that mindset about other areas of life?
- If the service a restaurant and/or quality of food is incredibly poor, should patrons be "above complaining"?
- If pilots are incompetent, and planes crash, should the public be "above complaining"?
I know that's an extreme example as ballgames won or lost do not equate to lives lost. However, my point is about the reaction of those observing the incompetency.
Can people be over the top and whiny? Sure, but I don't think that means fans should "be above" calling out incompetency.
We had 14 fouls and TN had 16 fouls. Both teams committed what we use to think were fouls but todays game allows a lot more contact than even 2 years ago. We got actually a very favorable whistle. Why do we degrade the game by crying over the whistle. For one game look at the calls and non calls with non blue glasses. I would hope the rest of this season including March tournament we get games called exactly like the TN game. I watched both Pope's and Barnes post game comments and both thought it was a great game. I know they can't blast the refs but nothing by either coach mentioned foul issues that hurt their team. We beat Duke in spite of the refs, so I know whistle is sometimes an issue but not Tuesday night. One of the best games I have seen in Rupp in several years. Our defense was as good as it had been all season. Our 3 pointers did not win the game. Our defense won the game. If we will bring that same defense intensity in our future games, we could win out. We have a great shooting team so all we have to do is play defense.
This is why I love the internet. It takes all of 30 seconds to pull up the play-by-play on ESPN to see that Tennessee had to commit 3 fouls in the final minute of the game to extend the game. Kentucky had a foul a the minute mark, and then Tennessee, again, committed another 3 fouls in the final 3:30. 6 fouls to 1.
Now, we can say 3 of those were when the game was still anyones.. sure.. But that still leaves the final 3. So at the very least, it was TN had 13 fouls and UK had 14.. when we were the home team.. a team that apparantly doesn't try to play defense.. against a team that's KNOWN for aggressive defense and fouling.
It doesn't add up.
It's clear the SEC refs are letting teams play much more physical - appears to me it is evenly called, for the most part.
Honestly, from the time I posted this until the end of the game it was fairly evenly called. Almost like the refs noticed the same thing I did.
UK, who anyone and everyone says plays soft, has been on the wrong end of some 30-10 free throw discrepancies to teams that are known to be physical and aggressive defensively. So it might be hard to get some people here to believe it has been called evenly. I will say it has been better since Pope called out the officiating in the media by saying he has been studying how to play defense aggressively without being called for fouls. Did he figure something out or did the refs realize everyone was starting to notice? That is up to each persons interpretation I guess.
