You've got 3:59 left in a tie game for the title...

According to the hypothetical symposium the unabashed answer is Rupp and he was the greatest late, early, and medium game coach of ALLL time next question please .

When I read the title of this thread, I thought it would be a Cal slurp fest. However, there have been some very good responses. I find it interesting that Cal was only mentioned by a few.

FWIW, I hate to say it but my choice would be the 15 second master from down the road. All coaches have failed at some point in tight positions but if I needed to win a big one down the stretch, he would be the pick. With Tubby at a 2nd position.

Denny Crum was always good down the stretch of games. During the 80's title game they were down 5 with about 4 to go and won.

Rick is terrible in close games! Great coach, but I don't think I want him in a close game! We actually I don't want him period! Lol!
