And you can have any college coach in history on the sideline.

Who do you pick?

Honestly, it's probably Coach K but not because of his coaching. It's really because he's likely to get the calls down the stretch of the game. I hate to admit that but it's true. He's going to get the calls and when teams are that close, it usually decides the game. I hate when people say that officials don't decide games because they often do. And I'm an official myself.

Thats too much info, I really liked you before knowing that. :)

1. John Wooden (With 10 national championships in 12 years, no other coach is even close). No coach was cooler and more focused under pressure to make the adjustments necessary to win any given close game.

2. Adolph Rupp
3. Dean Smith
4. Bobby Knight
5. Coach K

With equal talent the answer is Tubby, hate him all you want but the guy can coach.

K, counting on refs to bail you out isn't coaching. Dean Smith without kids making unforced era's never won a title and with all the cheating he did to only have two is pathetic. Wooden is okay but seriously in that era his teams were just to much talent for anyone else. Rupp would be a good one. Pitino is great at coming up with game plans but one of the worst in game coaches. Cal, he gets too worked up and although his record speaks for itself I still can't put him above Tubby's coaching. Calhoun may be a good choice too.

Agree with K. I've always thought you need to be at least 10 pts better than Duke with 2 min left to take the refs out of the game and feel safe about a win.

I'll take Calhoun over K because they faced off in two highly dramatic contests in the 1999 title game and in the 2004 final four (really it was the championship cause the other game was a joke) and Calhoun won both.

4-0, he was pulling the strings behind ollie.

Yeah, I agree with you but I had to be technical about it because I know someone would come by and correct me if I did it.

UConn has been to the final four five times and won it all four times. That's pretty damn good.

Coach K has been to the Final Four in 86, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 94, 99, 01, 04, 10 and 15. Thats 12 times and he got to the title game nine times and won it all five times. So Calhoun has a better winning percentage once he gets there.

So not hate him but any coach in history and you'd pick Tubby?

Come on Blue, what if you had a few million on the line?

In no particular order . . . Pitino, Knight, Bob Huggins, Dean Smith, Brad Stevens. I couldn't say that I'd prefer to have either of those rather than one of the others, but I think I'd rather have one of those than anybody else I can think of.
