Your Lineup Combinations?

The best lineup still includes Thiero at the 4.

Starters should be:

Mitchell
Thiero
Reeves
Dillingham
Sheppard

Big Z and Wagner first off the bench.

Edwards, Bradshaw, Onyenso get the rest of the minutes.

With Z available and had signs of a major big time contributor and thiero still out how in the hell can cal or anyone keep all those players happy I say take your best 7 or 8 and roll with it let the chips fall

I agree. That would require Edwards and Bradshaw not playing unless they come in with Canada and Watkins. I’d be ok with it.

I hate the 7 or 8 plan. If you have 10 quality players like this, play them all and not set specific time restraints. Play that particular game with the players that are playing the best that particular day. That is the luxury of having that deep of a roster. It will somewhat even out in the end and players will always be more fresh than other teams.

DJ
Reed
Reeves
Thiero
Big Z

Love Rob but I think Dj plays a little nore heady and controlled. I think this lineup gives us a little bit of everything.

Mitchell and Rob firsy guys off the bench and both getting starters minutes

Bradshaw can shoot, and helps spacing. Ugonna is a thicker body that can block shots and rebound better than Bradshaw. Z gives you the best of both worlds.

Starters:
PG: DJ
SG: Reeves
"Wing" Reed
PF: Mithcell
C: Z

2nd Unit:
PG: Rob/Reed
SG: Rob/Reeves
SF: Edwards
PF: Adou/Bradshaw
C: Bradshaw/Ugonna

Lose big leads with cals substitution pattern I beg to differ I like the 7 or 8 best of the best on the court at all times hey just my opinion I respect yours too 👍

Bradshaw

Unit 1

Wagner
Reeves
Thiero
Mitchell
Bradshaw

Unit 2

Dillingham
Sheppard
Edwards
Z
Onyeso

Would be a fun team to platoon with. That second unit has a lot of firepower.

I feel like many others do about Bradshaw - he’s the third best center at this point. Mock
drafts moving him to the second round, saying all he can do is shoot. I agree. And his 3FG% is only 33%.

You have to be trolling with this.
Troll why is this trolling all five of these players can shoot and due to the weakness on the boards this is mine lineup hey if you differ I don't care this is ameesage board cincyuk and I'm the troll lol

Man, this team is crazy.

Best possible 5, although we will never see it?

Z
Reeves
Rob
Reed
DJ

Win every game 115-101.

I’ll be honest, I think Cal is doing a pretty good job mixing and matching and making sure everyone gets fed.

In most circumstances, I would say you put one of those 4 guards on the bench, depending on who is on a heater or who is in foul trouble.

Slide in either Mitchell/Thiero for muscle and rebounding.

Sub Bradshaw for Z. Obviously play that one by ear on a nightly basis. Mix in Edwards primarily at the 4, imo.

Sorry dude. Lots of people point to how Cal is just itching to play three bigs. And that’s the lineup you threw out there.

I’f I’m platooning:

G Wagner/Sheppard
G Reeves/Dillingham
G Edwards/Thiero
F Mitchell/Bradshaw
F Ivisic/Onyenso

I like Ivisic and Onyenso at the 5. They are more physical than Bradshaw.

I want to keep Sheppard and Dillingham together.

The second unit might be better defensively.

IMO, UK has to have any combination of THREE of Mitchell/ Reeves/ Wagner/ Shepherd on the court at all times.

UK can NEVER utilize a lineup (unless in a blowout game) with any combination of Bradshaw/ Edwards/ UGO/ Dilly/ Thiero being more than three of the players on the court at any time.

Normal Starters:
Bradshaw/ Mitchell/ Edwards/ Reeves/ Wagner

Sub Combinations:
Z/ Thiero (once healthy)/ Shepherd/ Wagner/ Dilly

Sub Combinations:
UGO/ Mitchell/ Bradshaw/ Reeves/ Wagner

Sub Combinations:
Z/ Mitchell/ Edwards/ Shepherd/ Dilly

Minutes: (10-player rotation)/ (8-player rotation) Non Blowout Games
Mitchell-26/ 30
Reeves-26/ 30
Wagner-26/ 28
Shepherd-24/ 28
Bradshaw-20/ 25
Z-20/ 25
Dilly-20/ 25
Thiero-14/ 9
Edwards-14/ DNP
UGO-10/ DNP

I would go with:

Starters

DJ
Reed
Reeves
Mitchell
Big Z

Bench

Rob
Thiero
Bradshaw
Ugo
Edwards
This was the post I was going to make. And to extend it a bit I'd give Dillingham all the backup guard time and let Edwards and Thiero fight it out for the backup 3 time behind Reeves.

Yup. Not nearly enough minutes to go around when everyone's healthy. This is hopefully a problem the coaches have been working on since day 1 though and making sure everyone's on board.

I was almost more impressed with Z's demeanor last night than his actual play. There were a few times he was wide open for easy shots and instead the guy with the ball attempted a difficult shot. Happened once when Reeves and he hit it and Z was pumped. Fist pumped his way down the court to get back on defense. He was always excited when other guys scored. A good sign going forward.

Wagner
Reeves
Sheppard
Mitchell
Big Z

Dilly
Adou
Ugo
Bradshaw
Edwards but would like to see him get going.

if you looked at it honestly
Reed, Reeves, Mitchell have to start so that’s your 2-4 right there.
PG could go either way DJ is more consistent and has been getting better and better and I like Robs energy off the bench so I’d start DJ
C- Like others have mentioned Ivisic is the best of both world giving you the shot blocking and spacing

Starters: DJ, Shep, Reeves, Mitchell, Z
Rotation: Rob, Adou, Ugo
Foul Trouble: Edwards, Bradshaw

That team is winning a title

Alot on here including me complains about shepp not starting but I am beginning to believe he likes his roll coming off the bench

March rolls around, and Cal does his usual rotation shortening:

1. Reeves
2. Mitchell
3. Sheppard
4. Dillingham
5. Ivisic (assuming the first game was no anomaly)
6. Wagner
7. Thiero (assuming he gets healthy)
8. Onyenso
9. Bradshaw

Top 6 or 7 usually get the most minutes, with 8 getting some run and 9 usually only seeing a few minutes a game.

Edwards better put in some extra time, if he wants to crack that rotation.

I’m not going to pick a particular starting lineup or rotation/minutes distribution.

Frankly what Inwouod like to see Cal do is pick a starting lineup game by game based up the matchups with the opponent… and then also handle lineups and minutes based on the opponent and matchups on the floor at any given point during the game.

We have immense depth. We can make lots of adjustments is a variety of game situations. Why not embrace this advantage?
