Yenser?

I love the state of Kentucky where I was born and raised but my gosh some of the dumb as hell rules we have is asinine. Sports gambling, medical marijuana 10 day hiring, school funded nil deals. Hell calipari has to go testify to try and get that done today so we don’t fall behind other states

Yes, love Kentucky, but it is so backward in many ways still here in 2022. That said, I'd also imagine this delay has to do with the contract being drawn up, reviewed, signed, etc. Don't see any reason to worry, it just usually seems to take UK a minute on these things.

Yeah, well for one thing they have that ridiculous self-imposed posting/waiting period thing. Don't know if or even when the job was posted on the UK site. Stupid.
Yes, that would prevent UK from any announcement. However, I haven't seen anything from the 49ers either. Maybe the loss of an assistant OL coach is not news worth but maybe they are also waiting for an announcement from UK.

Saw they hired an offensive coach with a history of coaching the run game. Not sure if that is directly related but it kind of sounds like it is

Most state government employees are not football coaches. The rule was put in place to keep politicians and bureaucrats from handing out jobs to family, friends, and as political favors as easily as it once was. I don't want that rule to go away. Even more transparency is needed.

Ya working great. Instead now all people do is hire who they want, then post the job. It's a worthless hindrance that does nothing to address the purported problem.

I buy/sale medical pots..

And we stopped trying to catch you several years ago!

Someone in the federal level needs to grow a set and take cannabis off the damn scheduled drugs completely!!
Right on. Huge waste of money for the tax payers, I mean there is a huge pot chopper comes over the house all the time. I think they leave me be because I may grow 3 plants and usually have them spaced out pretty good so it doesn't look like a farm it's just not worth the effort to them for a few plants. Now if I had a few hundred I'd be a little more worried.

Self imposed? Every place I worked had the same rule, 30 days posted before someone can be named officially

For those not paying attention Wolford was working & recruiting for Bama 12 hrs after leaving Lexington for an interview

Kentucky state government archaic system of employment should not apply to independently self sufficient funded UK athletics

May not be self imposed. The 10 day posting period is usually a requirement from UK’s Human Resource department. All employees are subject to the waiting period regardless of position being filled. Hiring rules and procedures

I believe the state requires all state jobs to be posted for a minimum amount of time (10 days?) before it can be filled. This is to prevent cronyism. It's a good law, though they should probably carve out an athletics teams' exception.
