Kam barely played with Houston Hoops.
Yates was a big time scorer for them a couple years ago and Lowe was a nice player with him.

Uh yeah, I’d definitely hold a spot for that dude, he’s a monster. Exactly the kind of toughness we need in the post. He didn’t have his best game against Arkansas but crushed in crunch time and bullied dudes.

Makes you wonder if the staff knew Yates would be in the portal (since KSR was hinting at Yates during the Sweet 16 weekend around the same time Kam Williams committed)…and the staff intentionally went after Williams and Lowe bc there has been behind the scenes coordination between the 3 players.
Maybe some of the other loose connections was just media frenzy creating recruiting narratives and a few of the zoom calls were just feelers as backup plans but the Lowe/Williams/Yates trio was always the backcourt playbook once Dent fell through

Edited to say that 2022 year that I remember Yates is when he was with the bad French name EYBL team. He did get buckets though, that I remember for sure.
We did get a 5 star from Atlanta, Texas and he was a flop. He is available again, so maybe??
Hard to make that happen unless you've got NIL, multiple prospects vying for the same spot, or a team they want to be a part of.
