Yahtzee. Shamar Porter commits!

It might just be more of bad juju vs. Tennessee than Heupel’s schemes but I don’t see them scoring less than forty a game against Stoops every year. Last year was one of the most embarrassing games I’ve seen a defensive coach have. I still get sick to my stomach thinking about how Stoops prepared for them.
No argument here. That loss was inexcusable. Yea be always been a Stoops guy, but that game shook a lot of confidence I have. That game, imo, is a MUST win this year or I’ll honestly lose faith that Stoops will ever get over the hump.

Just inexcusable.

I've mentioned prior that I recently read that mid-TN would grow by 1M people over the next 10 years. Coupled with its proximity to Lexington it only makes sense for this being a prime recruiting area for UK. Very wise to move in there.
And more importantly, growing population means people with zero loyalty and zero history with the local school over an hr away in Knoxville.

Last class UT fans implied that all Nashville kids were for sale, & UK getting some just ment we were dirty. Fine. Its a new era, an NIL era, and if we are finally doing what the upper level of the SEC has done for decades, it is freaking fine by me.

Stoops and Marrow...red hot. :)
Guys, it is really OK to give credit to assistant coaches on staff not named Vince Marrow. He isn't the only one recruiting, I promise you.

Either that or you have a city like Nashville where young people want to relocate..

Lexington had 9.7% growth and Knoxville only 6.3% since the last census. More than just income taxes making those decisions..
Nashville has had a lot of business relocation. It's an educated population. A place where people want to go. After the Titans showed up, the city just took on a different growth and mindset. Add to that many entertainment people from California and a few from NY that were just tired of costs, taxes and how their cities were run, it has turned the city into way more than the home of country music. It's not the only reason but the lower taxes do have an impact with people coming in from other populated areas. While real estate costs are high there compared to places like Lexington, if you had to spend more money on something you would much rather have to do in an asset of value rather than flushing it down the toilet in taxes. Now it attracts people from everywhere because it has a lot to offer and opportunity for people to come to but part of that equation is that businesses know the tax environment can help them attract people. I think when Amazon put one of those new facilities there a couple of years ago the avg salary for those new jobs were like 150k or something. It also is a one leg flight to a lot of other places so it's an easy place to travel to even from afar. And if you just stayed in Williamson county, south of the city where Brentwood and Franklin are, you would live the same kind of life that is in Lexington and still be able to go into the metro area for concerts or sporting events as you wish.

Really nice early pickup. Love it that UK is hitting the mid-TN area, one of the fastest growing areas in the country.

Porter's HS, Ensworth, is a private school started by former Senator Bill Frist, whose family founded Covenant Health. Lots of scrilla around there.
That campus looks like a modernized ivy league campus.

I agree. Nashville has a lot to offer. The geography is beneficial too. Not the smokey mountain terrain that is around Knoxville. Lots of factors in play when everyone considers it. The Ford motor company investment in Kentucky also deals a lot with location and infrastructure investments that the state made. Nashville is in a great location to thrive.

I read where Wolf has taken over Tennessee, Michigan, and Alabama. Stoops must have a lot of faith in his recruiting.
He got Deone Walker out of Michigan when everyone thought Clink and UM would get him. I was shocked when I saw he signed with us. Wolf has always been known as a great recruiter. I don't know if he's the technician that Schlarman (RIP) was but he's a better recruiter.

Speaking of Walker. He was very highly recruited like we all know. Looking back on his recruitment remember Georgia pushing for him. I am sure they was pointing at Davis and his success. Similar size and all, this year it seems we are winning more recruiting battles against the best programs than we ever have.

I'm amazed more hasn't been said of his signing. Few years ago he would've been the jewel of this class.

Also wonder if UK may consider moving him to OL if things don't work out at OT? He's not only a highly regarded DL but OL too. Similar in size to Kennard.

Another Tennessee kid (ranked Nationally top 200, #4 in state) cuts list to 8: includes Kentucky and not Tennessee 😂.

Eveyone not on Volnation realizes hungry hungry Heupel couldn’t get it done at UCF and definitely won’t at Tennessee.
What is his name?

Dare I say we have become something of “a cool program,” just below the top 10ish.

When Wakka-Flakka-Flame brought the team out against Florida, I nearly wet my pants, and I’m a white guy that drives a pickup truck and wears cowboy boots (but I’m fairly fly for a WG), so, yeah, we are cooler than we used to be!

I just checked Walker’s visits. He visited Mich. State, Memphis, Kentucky and Mizzou.

Drive time from Detroit to Lexington, 5 hours 36 minutes: Detroit to Columbia, Missouri, 9 hours 46 minutes!!

We can sell Lexington to Michigan players and family can do Lexington and back home in a single day, if they push it.

The rest of the SEC, not so much!!

The UK band played it a good bit in 2013-2017.

I had considered it my personal theme song (it replaced Funky Cold Medina) during the late 90’s/2000’s.

I am 58, and as “fly” as the guy “dancing” on the video!

So we’ve won 10 games twice in the last 4 years and your going to give up on the best coach in my lifetime because he barely lost to a decent Tennessee team missing half our defense? The Sec is a gauntlet. UK has made huge strides under Stoops. This type of fan support is not what this program needs are deserves no offense.

I couldn't agree more. I wonder what would happen with Alabama fans if they lost to somebody like Texas A&M? Oh wait....

Uh no. It’s the fact that he’s failed to beat Tennessee is seasons when we have consistently had the better team.

If you can’t see a problem losing to lesser teams, it sure what to say. Winning ten games is awesome- but let’s not pretend this was a normal SEC schedule. We beat a lot of teams (and even lost to a couple) that were in free-fall or rebuild. Still a good season. But losing to teams like Tennessee is becoming a patternn

Living in Bowling Green being only 45 minutes from Nashville, I can tell you that Ensworth is a powerhouse football program. Good to see UK get into that area and especially at a program like Ensworth. He plays against the best competition the state of Tennessee has to offer. Love this pick up.

I've always thought we should use being the most northern SEC school to our advantage. You have to recruit the south, but being the farthest away SEC school to those kids is a disadvantage. We do have the luxury of being the closest to all the kids up north.

Technically (as Grumpy likes to point out), Mizzou is a couple clicks further north. But Detroit is a 9.5 hour drive from Columbia Mizzou, and 5.5 hours from Lexington. So, yeah, Columbia has the advantage in the Dakota's and such; we have the advantage east of the Mississippi.

At least the closest to the population up north.. Mizzou closest to the most empty land north.
