Yahtzee. Shamar Porter commits!

I assume Coen promised this kid he will be here next year

Reading between the lines he promised Levis he'd be here next year. Levis did an interview before the bowl game about him deciding to stay or go and said basically coen was the deciding factor. Not long after, Levis announced he's returning. Not long after that it's announced coen gets a major raise

Really nice early pickup. Love it that UK is hitting the mid-TN area, one of the fastest growing areas in the country.

Porter's HS, Ensworth, is a private school started by former Senator Bill Frist, whose family founded Covenant Health. Lots of scrilla around there.

Tennessee, for the time being has overtaken Ohio in importance for UK recruiting. Kentucky is really doing work in the Nashville area, which has seen its talent level explode recently.
I've mentioned prior that I recently read that mid-TN would grow by 1M people over the next 10 years. Coupled with its proximity to Lexington it only makes sense for this being a prime recruiting area for UK. Very wise to move in there.

Definitely an area of need....UK hitting the volunteer state hard
I’ve been on here about this before but that Nashville area is booming and UK been getting in there more and more. Stoops even singled out at the signing day presser that they are playing really good football in that area now.

Imagine Wan'Dale Robinson with a couple of 4* Runninh Mates. Thats what Ohio State has. What comes first great QBs or great receivers. They seem to come together. Program keeps moving forward. Need some more CBs to keep up in practice.

Iirc something like 100 people per day moved to Nashville and it's been that rate or a little less for years.

Grab a pencil, a piece of paper and write this down: SHAMAR PORTER IS A PLAYER !!

Either that or you have a city like Nashville where young people want to relocate..

Lexington had 9.7% growth and Knoxville only 6.3% since the last census. More than just income taxes making those decisions..

Another Tennessee kid (ranked Nationally top 200, #4 in state) cuts list to 8: includes Kentucky and not Tennessee 😂.

Eveyone not on Volnation realizes hungry hungry Heupel couldn’t get it done at UCF and definitely won’t at Tennessee.
It might just be more of bad juju vs. Tennessee than Heupel’s schemes but I don’t see them scoring less than forty a game against Stoops every year. Last year was one of the most embarrassing games I’ve seen a defensive coach have. I still get sick to my stomach thinking about how Stoops prepared for them.

On3 is actually higher on him in their own rankings than their consensus rankings. The consensus has him as 151 overall & the #25 WR. But, On3’s rankings list him as 60 overall & the #7 WR. I just glanced over his info & didn’t see a 40 time but I did see that he ran a 10.91, 100. He looks pretty fast on film but some of the angles made it tough to get a great feel. But, at 6-3, that’s a very solid time in the 100. The WR room is gonna be insane in a cpl seasons.
question
i know he is a tall receiver, does anyone know his speed?

Usually, 40 times are on the athletes hudl but I don't see it on his. If he ran a 10.91 100m then he's pretty quick but after watching his hudl he's more of a possession WR and what he can do with the ball once he gets it in his hands. Like on his commitment video in the beginning when he's hurdling a defender.

I found a great example of how to convert 100m dash times to 40 times and basically Porter's is between 4.4 and 4.5

Stoops talked about how the population explosion in Nashville has increased the talent.
