just read on another site that memanboy had some sort of show last night and that Cameron Mills was a guest on it and some seem to think that he is his source for info
Any idea on the major recruit? A freshman?Norlander has made a post saying "He is hearing not JUST from UK affiliated or KY media guys, MOST of the elite portal guys who have not committed yet, have reached out about playing for Mark Pope." Kind of speculated that UK WOULD get several top players. Also, Matt Jones said something to the effect that "UK has several guys they have not disclosed yet, and a MAJOR recruit that UK is in on." He also stated that a few who have not OFFICIALLY entered the portal is very interested in playing at KY (similar to what Maggard said, just a week earlier than he did). My guess, the BYU kid Jaxson Robinson is one of them. This week will be a very tell tell time to see exactly how the roster will shake out. Me personally, I expect a very good week, just be patient, lots of things going on behind the scenes that is not being released to the public. One example, the BYU kid Saunders is here visiting and not a damn person knew it was happening until it happened. SOME things will not leak out until it is time for it to.
Yeah he did a Twitter Space last night.just read on another site that memanboy had some sort of show last night and that Cameron Mills was a guest on it and some seem to think that he is his source for info
I think because Waterman knows he’ll start at BYU next year. He won’t at UK and you don’t want him starting. He would be nice as a 6th year player for 16 mins per game though. Just don’t think he jumps across the country for that. Robinson would transfer in to be a Starter. Khalifa was a starter but definitely more of a role player, so you could sell a bench role to him. I’m not high on Khalifa, but wouldn’t mind adding him because culture building is important to me from Day 1, and I really want a roster mix that comprises young, disciplined talent, skilled experience, and action based leadership.Waterman is the type of stretch four we need on the roster. Around 6-10, he can shoot the three well, knows the system and would give us that fourth big we need if Obosor and Garrison come. And if Garrison does not come would give us that 3rd big that is different than Williams and Obosor. Surprised he isn't in the portal.
People are saying if McNeeley doesn’t jump for UConn at his visit then it pulls the door wide open for Kentucky since we’re more willing (at least outwardly) to discuss NIL.Any idea on the major recruit? A freshman?
Did you really believe that last sentence when you typed it?I honestly can't believe people are falling for the Maggard stunt again,
WOW. Come on, folks. You are better than that.
Did not specify, but me personally, I am not super excited about McNelly. I know most are. But he is a freshman, and right NOW, I would rather get proven, veteran portal guys until we get some roster stability. For THIS year, if possible, maybe stay away from the HS kids. In the future, yes sign some for roster retention and build multi year players, but for next year, we need guys who will not need part / most of the year to get comfortable in college. Yes McNelly can shoot, but he hasn't played a college game, we already have Perry and the kid who signed with BYU and hasn't played competitively in two years, now lets get some veterans. JMO.Any idea on the major recruit? A freshman?
The X post I responded to said Pope was working hard trying to convince his family to let him re-enter the portal. that says nothing to the effect of his agent initiating contact. It reads like Pope is talking directly to the family of a kid who isn't in the portal. That would be tampering which is why I'm responded, not believing it was happening in the manner that post was written.
I think I’ve read on here that he is testing NBA waters, and once he gets the feedback he is looking for, he will hit the portal.Could Robinson be favoring the BYU replacement hire? I have to admit, for a Mormon program, they knocked it out of the park by grabbing an NBA guy. He was being interviewed for several head coaching jobs.
Because I really don't see the point in waiting to say your transferring. Or at least opening transfer availability, while still having the option to come back.
thanks....I don't follow him so I was cluelessYeah he did a Twitter Space last night.
I’m not a Marc supporter but even his staff and players didn’t know.
If Matt Jones dislikes maggard, that means I'm a maggard fan.
What am I missing? First time I've been invested in basketball in years. Haven't taken anything I've read without a grain of salt, but what are this dude's particular detractors?I honestly can't believe people are falling for the Maggard stunt again,
WOW. Come on, folks. You are better than that.

Why do people continue to post garbage from Twitter?
Because Pope is doing everything himself.Because there's nothing trickling out of the UK offices
Not necessarily. Say the little hand is just shy of the hour and the minute hand is just past the 12. The time the clock showed wouldn't ever be correct because it would be a nonsense number. What is the old saying about a broken clock ... ? ! It shows the correct time twice a day.
The starter at 5 floated between Khalifa and Traore. So, BYU was sometimes in the strange position of having 2 of their best players (Robinson and Traore) on the bench at the start of the game.I think because Waterman knows he’ll start at BYU next year. He won’t at UK and you don’t want him starting. He would be nice as a 6th year player for 16 mins per game though. Just don’t think he jumps across the country for that. It is too much to even go into. For one he has been sued by several people for a roofing buisness he owned. HE also had a KY website years ago that he charged people $300 for a lifetime membership, then shut the site down and never was heard from for years. What am I missing? Noted. 👍It is too much to even go into. For one he has been sued by several people for a roofing buisness he owned. HE also had a KY website years ago that he charged people $300 for a lifetime membership, then shut the site down and never was heard from for years.
Has had many wrong recruiting predictions, including one where afterwards he said he was wrong on purpose to detract the schools for knowing UK was in on another recruit.
He just had a slew of tweets a few weeks back making fun of people for saying Cal to Arkansas was the dumbest thing he has ever heard.
Stay far away and believe nothing he says. I am embarrassed for Cameron Mills if he really has anything to do with this guy,
I guess that Sheppard kid didn't work out last year did he?Did not specify, but me personally, I am not super excited about McNelly. I know most are. Are you that dense ? We all know Sheppard had a great year (which he wasn't even considered a one and done, UK got VERY lucky he was better than thought, NOBODY predicted the year he had) Which odds do you prefer, freshman kid who has never played a college game and HOPE that he turns out to be as good as Sheppard, or a kid who has DONE it for 3/4 years on the college level ? For every Sheppard success story, there are probably 15/20 failure or didn't live up to expectation stories when putting your faith in freshmen. I will make you a bet, even IF McNelly signs with UK (he won't), NONE of this years freshmen have as good of a year as Sheppard did last year.I guess that Sheppard kid didn't work out last year did he?
It's best to have a MIX of players. As long as he has the right attitude, I'm all for adding a 3rd FR.
Are you that dense ? We all know Sheppard had a great year (which he wasn't even considered a one and done, got VERY lucky he was better than thought, NOBODY predicted the year he had) ....
We / UK got lucky. Try and keep up. Damn Benny, calm down, nobody is saying mean things about your idol. One bad thing about having KY players on the team, SOME of you go apeshit and worship them and nobody better not remotely say anything bad about them. So actually YOU are the one with the pretty shitty take.Sheppard didn't "get VERY lucky" that he was better than thought!! Wtf kinda bullsht is that? Just because people didn't see it coming doesn't mean he didn't work his ass off for what he accomplished all the while overcoming his HC choking and leaving him on the bench all too often.
Pretty shtty take

You seem nice......No. Actually you seem like a complete jerk to other UK fans.We / UK got lucky. Try and keep up. Damn Benny, calm down, nobody is saying mean things about your idol. No that is not the case. He called me out for my post about getting luck Sheppard was better than everyone thought he would be. He thought I was saying Sheppard got luck, when I actually said UK got lucky. I am not the one who quoted someone and started saying they had a shitty take. I simply let him know i wasn't bashing Sheppard, I was saying UK got lucky. But now that you called me out, maybe learn to read better. There was no difference of opinion, we wasn't debating anything. he misunderstood what my post was about. You seem nice......No. Actually you seem like a complete jerk to other UK fans.
All because they have a different opinion than you? The gall of them not thinking in lockstep with the supposed "catsfan"bgky.
No problem with my reading comprehension. You decided to make it personal. "Are you that dense" in response to his post about Sheppard and his being willing to take on a freshman (McNeely) this coming year.No that is not the case. He called me out for my post about getting luck Sheppard was better than everyone thought he would be. He thought I was saying Sheppard got luck, when I actually said UK got lucky. Go back up thru the post, I was called out by posters, I simply responded to them.
Once again, I will say, the poster called ME out before I asked him if he was that dense. The little jab he posted "I guess that Sheppard kid didn't work out last year" I felt I needed to address it. So who got smart first ? We all know Sheppard turned very well (a lot better than expected). I simply asked him if he was that dense that I didn't know he had a great year and also that more times than not, the freshman do NOT meet expectations as opposed to exceeding them. And of course with the number of players we need to fill the roster for next year, you sign McNelly. My point was, I would rather DEPEND on the mature portal guys rather than HOPE the freshmen have years as good as Sheppard's. I will offer you the same bet, All of the freshmen we end up with, (hell I will even let you have McNelly even if he doesn't sign with UK), NONE of them will have nowhere near as good of a year as Sheppard did. You can name the bet. I will also bet, one of the portal signings will. Thus the whole veteran portal v/s freshman point. And yes I know, we need bodies, but if we have a CHOICE (ready my post he quoted), the answer is obvious. No problem with my reading comprehension. You decided to make it personal. "Are you that dense" in response to his post about Sheppard and his being willing to take on a freshman (McNeely) this coming year.
And I agree with him. I would take him. We currently have 10-11 schollies open. If Pope wants him, I'm good with that.
Maybe...just spit ballin here......Leave out that first sentence and the "discussion" would have been much better.
Take care
Let me tell you…Mills can talk.just read on another site that memanboy had some sort of show last night and that Cameron Mills was a guest on it and some seem to think that he is his source for info
Right. We need proven talent. Look what happened to some of the unproven talent on Ky this part season.Did not specify, but me personally, I am not super excited about McNelly. I know most are. But he is a freshman, and right NOW, I would rather get proven, veteran portal guys until we get some roster stability. For THIS year, if possible, maybe stay away from the HS kids. I generally agree but someone who is legit may have a fake ID to share info they can’t under their real name too.If you have to post behind a fake name, then your "news" is likely fake as well.
When I saw that he had entered the portal I was hoping we’d go after him just based off of his assist numbers. I need to watch some video of this guy.
That’s not really a bet. Shep freshman year was damn near impossible to replicate. Man what I wouldn’t have given to have a coach utilize him and make other teams pay.Are you that dense ? We all know Sheppard had a great year (which he wasn't even considered a one and done, UK got VERY lucky he was better than thought, NOBODY predicted the year he had) Which odds do you prefer, freshman kid who has never played a college game and HOPE that he turns out to be as good as Sheppard, or a kid who has DONE it for 3/4 years on the college level ?
