WR Coach

Do we even have a WR coach? A few days after all the Wolford to Bama chatter, I saw that Bouknight had booked it to Marshall. I have seen all kinds of O-Line Coach chatter, but nothing on WR Coach. For Coen's offense to work, we need good WRs, and we have a bunch of young ones that are gonna need a good WR Coach. Anybody know anything? Or did I imagine the Bouknight to Marshall thing? Or is it real, and I just missed the replacement chatter?

Bouknight didn't coach the receivers last year. Woodward did and he is still there.

Bouknight was demoted to off field's analyst last summer, Coen bud Woodward did a good job coaching the position & being his eyes in the booth. And doing a GREAT job recruiting.

Which is why we saw such a leap from those guys. Boughknight was a zero and only barely worse than the endless March of wr coaches we had over the years.

No wonder our wr recruiting was in the toilet. A run focused offense with the position coach changing every year. Can't blame kids.

Coen has mentioned more than once that Woodward helped him get the right call with the right set with the right players at the right time. He also was credited for the work he did with UK signing Barion Brown. He looks to be a valuable addition to the UK staff.

That's my hope. Similar system if not the exact same, and the dude already appears to be a rockstar. Hope he can find a QB coach to serve a booth role.

2 Hartlines (we are not stealing from OSU, but just saying) cannot replace one Coen without getting rid of Settle (Marrow ain’t an option). The OC preferably is a QB coach, but will definitely have to coach some position.

Our special teams has sucked since Hood left. The last couple of years with Johnson has been a train wreck. He fair catches punts at the 5 but then would let one hit on the 20 and bounce down near the goal line where the opponent would down it. I remember one game this year where he caught a kickoff at the 10 yard line and took a knee. Why not at least signal a fair catch and get it at the 25? Nope he just caught it and took a knee so we started on the 10 yard line. Just crazy decisions.

Woodward played QB in College. I assume he would move to QBs and they would look to hire a WR coach.
