10000%. If RP wanted to take a 1-2 year retirement/homecoming tour as an assistant and that’s what it was sold as from the get go, then all the noise immediately stops.
It won’t happen but it would be a win win for everyone. It’s basically the K/Schyer set up but in reverse. RP gets to mend broken bridges and be honored for a year and retire like the old man he is. Pope gets compete buy-in.
I’d even be open to Mitch offering Rick the Basketball GM role that was floated. An off the court, recruiting, NIL, Portal, collective, smoozing boosters type gig

Nope. My dream line up of assistants is: Rondo, Robic, and another recruiter.
Let Rondo and the 3rd guy handle recruiting and player relations. Let Robic handle the defense. Pope handles the offense.
For obvious reasons I would not want RP in a position where he’s recruiting players. And anything else, I think, would lead to clashes between the staff.
