Yeah yeah you don't care anymore and aren't going to watch. But anyone that is, who do we prefer?
  • No. 1 Auburn
  • No. 1 Duke
  • No. 1 Florida
  • No. 1 Houston
  • No. 2 Alabama
  • No. 2 Michigan State
  • No. 2 Tennessee
  • No. 3 Texas Tech
I would go in order, Texas Tech, Houston, Florida, Michigan State, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Duke

Biased as a UF fan, but:

Florida
Michigan State
Duke
Houston
Texas Tech
Auburn
Tied for last: Alabama & Tennessee

I know the UK fans would disagree with this list, because you all gatekeep overall number of titles. UF fans gatekeep new title winners, especially within our conference. I don’t want Auburn, Bama or Tennessee to be able to claim a basketball natty. Bama and Tennessee would bother me more than Auburn for some strange reason.

Another title for schools like Duke or MSU (or UK, UNC) just disappears into the ether, to me.

Definitely Houston or Tech. Michigan State maybe. I think Sampson deserves a title and Izzo has long needed his second.

I would love to see Texas Tech win it. They are always looked at as a lesser school by UT and A&M grads in Texas. They paid their dues losing the 2019 championship in OT. Would be the biggest sports victory in school history. Outside of Tech, someone who has never won it before would be my preference.

Barnes, Sampson, and Pearl are probably the 3 most accomplished active coaches to have not won a title so it would sting a bit less to me if one of those 3 won it. I, of course, never want Duke to win but it would sting worse than normal this year since they have been as lucky as UK has been unlucky with no serious injuries and all their freshmen exceeding expectations. Go 'bama!

In order of who I would hope to win:

1. Texas Tech - would be completely inconsequential, no threat, don't even know any Texas Tech fans
2. Houston- same reasons as Tech, but have moments over the last 55 years of basketball success
3. Auburn- I don't hate Pearl, he's nearing the end of his career. Chances are when he leaves Auburn goes back to irrelevance
4. Florida- feel blah about them, haven't hated a Florida player since Joakim Noah. If they win it all though they clearly become #2 behind UK in the SEC with multiple titles under two different coaches.
5. Michigan State- - Here is where the list becomes who I don't want to win. Izzo grates on me. I never liked his style of play and he's got a lot of mileage out of being good but not great.
6. Alabama- Despise Oats. Smart guy but knows it, total jackass. Ref jockey who's players do a ton of grabbing, holding, hacking, pushing, illegal picks and whines non-stop to officials. Alabama fan doesn't deserve basketball success either, F'em.
7. Duke - The darling of ESPN. Most hateable players, fanbase, pretty much everything. Biggest threat to UK of who's left in terms of recruiting and history.
8. Tennessee- I actually like Rick Barnes but if you had one of those murder mystery plots where you had a fan of each SEC school on a cruise, Tennessee fan would be the one who gets murdered and then they can't solve the crime because all the other fans had motive and all of them actually tried to do it. I never want them going to a Final Four, I want them to fail at everything.

4. Florida- feel blah about them, haven't hated a Florida player since Joakim Noah. If they win it all though they clearly become #2 behind UK in the SEC with multiple titles under two different coaches.
I mean... isn't that already clearly established win or lose? In my mind UK is the clear #1 and far ahead of the UF. UF is the clear #2 and far ahead of #3. I think once you get to #3, that's where the arguments can be made. A win by Auburn, Bama, or Tennessee closes the gap to #2 and UF, but not UK at #1.

That’s fair IMO

Arkansas is the one you're competing with. Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee have 2 Final Fours combined.

No duke or florida. Duke has 6 titles that would put them one behind us and florida is about to take over the sec again they have more titles than us the last 25 years so neither. If UT won I wouldn’t cry. Barnes would probably retire and it could cause a chain reaction of coaches that makes more players available in the portal.

My preferred order:
Florida
Auburn
Houston
Mich St
Texas Tech
Alabama
Tennessee
another round of Covid cancelling the Final 4, instead of that other 4 letter team winning it

I gotta say this Auburn team is public enemy #1 for me right now. I find almost everyone on the team incredibly unlikeable and CBM is such a crybaby. Broome's stupid celebration where he stands there for like five second and draws a square in the air and gives the thumbs down after basically anything good he does is so damn annoying.

As much as I don't like to say it, I don't have this Duke team as much. Schyer doesn't rub me the wrong way like K did and Flagg is the real deal.

In preference of who I'd want to win by tier it would probably be:

Houston
Texas Tech
Mich St.

Florida

Alabama
Duke
Tennessee

Auburn

I have Florida winning my brackets, and I dislike them the least of the remaining SEC schools. Houston and Texas Tech would be fine.

Duke is the worst option. Tennessee is probably the 2nd worst option.

Auburn and Alabama have become annoying, but they don't have much history/tradition to add to.

Michigan State would be ok. They've got a lot of history. But they're not really on our level in terms of blue blood status. We don't have any real beef with their fans.

Houston #1 for me

I like the Florida team best but I'd like to see Bruce Pearl win his title. I feel like he's earned it and he's a decent guy no matter what anybody says.

I like Rick Barnes too. Not a fan of their little thug point guard, though. Plus it would grieve a lot of Kentucky fans to see UT with a banner, so even though that part wouldn't bother me as much personally I won't be actively rooting for them.

Definitely don't want to see Duke win it.

Between Izzo or Oats...... yech. Not super hyped about either one of them winning it. I guess my order of preference would be something like:

Auburn
Florida
Texas Tech / Houston
Sparty / Alabama
UT
Duke

I would like to see 4 SEC teams in final four. That would shut up the national media. Then I would like to see Florida and Tennessee in Championship game. I had florida winning from the get go, so let them win.

I prefer an SEC team wins the title. Absolutely no Duke or Houston. I don’t like Sampson and they were gifted that win last night with horrible calls in the last few seconds.

Given the unfortunate number of teams UK fans dislike in this Elite 8, the obvious choices are Texas Tech and Houston, followed by Michigan State.
