I mean, he played the position and we don't have a so called qb coach on the staff. Now, the new OC will coach qb's and be OC but his time will be split. What could Freddie bring to the position?

He will be good at anything he does. He's a smart guy. I think he would have been an excellent coach. In terms of UK our QB coach is Shannon Dawson and that is an upgrade.

I always enjoy listening to his comments when Tom Leach has him on Monday Morning Quarterback. I remember the game his was injured against North Carolina and it ended his career as a qb.

Take heed to the fact that Shannon Dawson has turned a few average QB's into top level QB's consistently. We're fine.

Would he? It's possible, he's played the position and he's very knowledgeable about the in's and out's of the position. But, that doesn't mean he would be a good coach or good a teaching the position. Knowing how to play a position and knowing how to coach that position are worlds apart. If it was as simple as playing a position = being a great coach, then there would be thousands of great coaches out there, but there isn't. Coaching and playing are apples and oranges.

I think Freddie would have been a fine football coach whether it been in College or High School. But he took a different career path and has excelled representing the KY National Guard. He has tremendous leadership and communication skills.

Agree 100%. He can teach you what he knows better than most anyone. And, he knows a lot.
