Top 25 highest paid college coaches, per Business Insider, March of this year:

25- Mike Anderson. I say no, though he's not terrible.
24- Jay Wright. Hell yes.
23- Steve Alford. Obviously no, as he's now unemployed.
22- Dana Altman. Probably yes. Oregon has done pretty well under him, not sure you could do much better for the price.
21- Cuonzo Martin. No. Connection to top recruits got him up there, but the results aren't there.
20- Mark Turgeon. No.
19- Buzz Williams. Looking like a yes.
18- Brad Underwood. Hell no.
17- Frank Martin. Tough one, The man took South Carolina to a FF, but damn if they haven't fallen since. Call it TBD.
16- Scott Drew. Tough call. Probably yes, considering he's the most successful coach in school history.
15- Avery Johnson. TBD, though probably no.
14- Tony Bennett. Yes, despite his being allergic to the tournament.
13- Gregg Marshall. Yes, but the transition to the AAC is raising some questions.
12- Lon Kruger. Probably yes, though there are a lot of ups and downs with him.
11- Shaka Smart. No. He'll get a year or 2 more to change that, though.
10- Archie Miller. TBD. Last year was pretty "mehhh", though.
9- John Beilein. Yes.
8- Larry Krystkowiak. Hell no.
7- Bob Huggins. Yes, Can't see WVU doing any better,
6- Sean Miller. Yes,. Unless he gets arrested.
5- Tom Izzo. Yes.
4- Bill Self. Yes.
3- Chris Holtmann- damn, did OSU pay through the nose to get him. TBD, but it's been good so far.
2. Cal
1. K.

Big, big jump on those last 3 (yes, Holtmann makes close to what Cal is making). But looking at the list, that doesn't seem unjustified (for the top 2).

And no, apparently it's not a mistake that Roy Williams (and Mark Few) is missing.

No way he's earned his pay, even if you pretend he isn't in middle of a huge scandal he wasn't anything since he's been there.

In all fairness you don't know what he has done.................behind the scene..

Look at the guys below him on the list. Who's done better? Beilein, considering mainly the tournament success, but who else? He's won almost 77% of his games at Arizona.

Holtmann has Butler buyout money lumped into the first year of his contract. He actually makes about $3 million.

Makes a lot more sense that way.

Not like Ohio State was signing a title winning coach, or poaching a top guy from the NBA. I don't think Urban Meyer made much more than that.

Where's Pearl?! Earns their pay:
1) K- just his name keeps the NCAA from investigating.
2) Cal- obviously.
3) Izzo- his record keeps the NCAA away
4) Self- knows who's palms have to be greased to keep the Ncaa away.
5) Wright- he caught lightning in a bottle...maybe?

None of them are worth it to me. I know, I know they're worth whatever the market will bear.
Way to much money involved for something that doesn't mean much in the big picture scheme of things.
In reality, Military, Police and Fire are worth way more!
That's just me though.

Chris Mack at $4 million a year isn’t in the top 25? That’s a little surprising.....
