Looked fine to me also. Especially compared to Skal and Murray.
Willis' three was HUGE.. Willis can play and he's from Kentucky.. He made several key plays.. In fact, if it wasn't for Willis and Hawkins helping Poy and Ulis who are just balling we may not have the lead.. Willis, huge 3, took a charge and caused a turnover all critical..
I'd say Murray was the main reason UofL took the lead.. He turned the ball over and took bad shots in the paint. Hope he comes out on fire in the 2nd half..
All you Willis-haters need to GTFO the board. He's no worse on defense than anyone else. What did Matthews do? What did Labissiere do? How many shots did Murray miss? How many turnovers did Murray make? Answer: Way too many.

No, he isn't Lebron, but the the way people talk about him you would think he's a sure fire #1 pick in the draft. He's a serviceable player, but not our savior that people make him out to be.

I don't know who's making him out to be "the savior" for this team, but I think Cal needs to give him a little longer leash. One mistake and he's out. Murray misses 6 straight shots, commits a ton of turnovers, and he gets to keep playing. Why? Because Cal feels he owes Murray playing time since he's a OAD.
No, because overall Murray is a better player. Did you forget the fact that he even kept us in the game against OSU? Murray has the ability to take over a game when he is on. It's not because Cal owes him.
Willis did fine today. He played pretty good defense. I saw no major breakdowns.
Nobody, is even pretending that Willis is some outstanding player. But I find it telling that the same individuals who seem to go ballistic every time he's needed to play a few minutes, haven't a care in the world that Skal is playing to much and to often. Anyone want to guess what the difference is? "Fanboi" (whatever childish insult that is) my a$$..
He was okay, made some mistakes, and did some good. More importantly he gave other players a rest. I guess they'll start calling Cal a "fanboi" now.
I don't hate on him. I like him as a player, but Cal even said in is pressor. If you can't grab a rebound, you're coming out. All of the people on this board thinking he should be playing in place of Murray don't have a clue. Murray is on a different level.
C'mon -- skal went three games with 2 fetches , he never got the hook like DW does . Like him or not that's fact .
No one said he was Murray. Murray isn't as good as you think. He's a quicker Patrick sparks. Streaky scorer who plays pick up defense. Willis will have good and bad moments, but he will be needed this year and next.
Murray is a projected top 5-7 pick. What a stupid take to compare him to Patrick Sparks in any way.
Nobody is down on Willis. His fanboi club is so ludicrous and sets such stupid expectations that any reasonable comment sounds negative. I thought he had a very good game and was about what I expect from him. When every one is healthy, he's not going to see much time. When someone is hurt, he generally doesn't hurt us.
Willis' big problem is the fanboi mania. I'm sure he finds them very embarrassing.
