Willis hair

Willis completes a higher percentage of his passes

I think someone on the team hid his Grecian Formula bottle and he has been here a long time

Dude, don't be messing with Grecian Formula! I like it! (Better than that awful dye even though it has a little smell.) It looks natural. That mixed with a little Rogaine and then some leave-in conditioner for the sides is the formula. I want the least amount of hair falling out possible for as long as possible. (I don't be doing the Jordan look with my Ronald Reagan looking oblong head. (Dang, almost didn't take a breath...)

Personally, if it were me, I'd be solely focused on taking someone's minutes from this team. Willis enjoys Kentucky basketball. He enjoys going to college. He's just a regular kid enjoying his time. That's all great, but he will never take a kids minutes that's better than him. To do that he probably needs extra time and focus, and it's obvious he's more concerned with other aspects. Willie had this problem also, but willie had the talent and build to make it regardless. Willis needs to examine why it is he's here. Are you doing everything you can to perform past your competition? I bet the answer is no.

IMO, his hair looks goofy, but I highly doubt it took away any focus on taking someone's minutes.

That's where you're wrong. We see this in coaching all the time. There's a certain group of kids every year focused on, well, just being a kid. And that's cool, but guys like Willis need to be on another level of sorts if he wants to take someone's minutes.

I have a kid right now who gets up at 3am every single morning and hits the practice field. He wants a college scholarship. Is he good enough? Probably not. Will be make it? Probably. He's totally focused, and he's totally bought into the idea that giving everything he has will pay off. Some kids can't afford to be cavalier if they want big things. I hope Willis is totally focused on these things but by the evidence and all accounts, he's just happy being average. Cool, but he will be on the end of the bench in January/February.

That's my point.

Me thinks you are overreacting.......

Ok. And if he takes his position on this team any way but 110%, he will lose all minutes. You don't get it both ways. If you aren't a natural great talent, you must work harder and earlier than everyone else. There's no overreaction. It's life.

I'm sorry. I did't realize you knew Willis so well.

Willis is just a victim of our culture at UK right now. The next coach here may not be a coach that recruits the way Cal does and prolly wont be able to recruit as well. CAL gets the best kids that are on fast track to NBA. Willis isn't that type of player so he gets lost in the rotation. Not saying it is right or wrong but it is our culture under Cals watch

Derek Willis is now Kurt Warner's wife.

I'll take Mrs. Warner 8 days a week over Willis.
