Willis' Grey Hair Didn't Last Long

So because he plays basketball, he shouldn't cut his hair, shave, brush his teeth, talk to anyone besides his teammates, go to class, watch tv, eat, drink, sleep..

..I swear some of the posters on here would prefer that we go ahead and chain em up and just call them indentured servants.

Who gives a flying schmuck what these guys do with there personal lives..

Don't brush your teeth guys, you should be watching film
Shoot they already are indentured servants. According to ushistory.org...

Each indentured servant would have their fare across the Atlantic paid in full by their master. [today that would be tuition]

A contract was written that stipulated the length of service — typically five years [each scholarship is a one-year contract, renewable for for up to 4-5 total years]

The servant would be supplied room and board while working in the master's fields. [room and board in exchange for playing a sport, sometimes literally on a "master's" field in the case of outdoor sports]

Upon completion of the contract, the servant would receive "freedom dues," a pre-arranged termination bonus. This might include land, money, a gun, clothes or food. [Diploma unless they leave early, then it's nothing unless you want to count being drafted as "pre-arranged" for the kids who are obviously going to be picked]

Maybe he is going to tat it up Bam Bam Bigelo style...just a thought.

You're a piece of work. Do you over think everything in your life this much? Do everyone a favor and don't share anymore of your pathetic theories on our players hair choices affecting their play on the court.

If you read the article in the H-L today (it's a Tipton story so I won't link it) it's about his freakin hairdo moreso than his play.

In the article, Derek mentions all the stuff about people saying he looked like a Dragon Ball Z character and now looking like Shane with the shaved head and he says something like he's "trying to be a good sport about it" so apparently it bothers him.

In other words, it's a needless distraction to him. You can talk all you want about people shouldn't care or shouldn't comment on it, but that's just a waste of oxygen. People, especially UK fans, are going to comment. If Derek was oblivious to it, I wouldn't care, but he's a kid and it apparently bothers him, even though he asked for it.

Easy fix for that - in the future, just leave it alone.

I doubt if Cal makes many hair decisions. But our fans sure worry about such important things.
Last I checked this is a discussion board and there are many topics other than simply point blank game and stat related discussions. Lighten up Fransis.

Sorry, but the fact that Willis is devoting so much attention to his haircut tells me he's worrying too much about his image on the court as opposed to his performance on the court. Willie had the same problem.

He just needs to chill. Shave his head, grow it out, whatever, just stop changing it. It doesn't matter. What he does on the court is going to make more of a statement than anything else. He played well tonight. To me, the changes to his physical appearance are just a needless distraction. Even the ESPN guys commented on it. It's a disservice to his talent.

I'm sure that's your personal opinion but I believe he is just veing

Hair, lol, and it's Francis genius!

Some of you miss the point completely. It's not about him being a kid, acting like a teenager, playing girl camp with his hair etc. it's about Willis NOT being talented enough. He must work harder than others to overcome his lack of talent. Skill is developed ONLY through hours and hours of preparation. Guys like Willis need to focus 100% on his game IF he wants to be a major player on this team. If he wants to just "live his life" as a UK player and enjoy being young, then he's going to get those results and be a bench player, especially next year.

Some of you have no understanding of this. And anyone debating it have either never played high level sports or are too damn ignorant and young to understand it. You don't just wake up, put a UK uniform on, and become john wall. Guys like Willis need to be fully engaged.

So to me it's not about f'ing hair. It's about Willis and his attitude toward becoming a star. By all accounts and reports (reading between the lines) he's not.

I thought you declared that about him before the season?

Sorry didn't happen. I said nothing about Willis before the season.

Just looked back through your posts, there's a couple of posts just like this one. Doesn't go back to before the season but has your opinion about Willis changed since the beginning of the season?

A couple? You mean one?

I'm simply saying he's not good enough to be a major player on UK teams if he's not more engaged than the typical cal recruit.

He's not willie. He can't afford distractions.

My job is safe. I even showed up in a t-shirt and athletic pants to add even more pizzaz to my fresh cut hair and beard. Praise the lord I didn't get fired for caring more about my image than work!
