Williams -20 Garrison +11

It's not just Williams or Garrison, Brea has been missing easy layups and instead of elevating his game, he's regressing at the worst part of the season.

He's a great shooter, but he's been in a slump.
Williams cannot help it that Carr let Nelson score 26 points. Williams was not responsible for Alabama hitting 13 pointers. This stat can be deceiving. He had a double double. Not happy with 4 turnovers, but when the offense begins with the 5 man at the head of the key making passes to cutters it can happen

What was Perry’s +/-? Seems not having a backup PG that can play defense is hurting us more than any other position to me. Butler is getting worn down playing 35 minutes

Williams needs to look for shooters to pass to more often. He seems to get focused on trying to make an offensive move that he can't actually execute. In general these guys need to realize that in games like this every possession counts. Don't hoist up a 28 foot 3 at the beginning of the clock unless you are on fire and work the offense to get a shot.

Brea can't defend anyone either. Easy to see why he didn't start at Dayton. Dude did win us the game against UF, so I'm grateful for that.

Brea is also forcing his shot and he needs to learn how to create space because no matter how many screens you set for him, he will hardly be left alone. It's like teams telling Kentucky that if we get beat, it's not going to be Brea.

I believe in this team, but Williams also needs to be tougher mentally and emotionally as well. Kentucky knows they're getting bad calls, but you have to remain calm. I know easier said than done, but damnit, I know this team can win it all.

That's why it's also frustrating

Williams prevented any chance for a comeback. He intentionally threw Sears out of the way for a rebound during the made 3 to cut the lead to 4 with 27 seconds. So you don’t think the refs gonna call a foul!? Shows lack of basketball intelligence which also happens several times a game IMO.

I think many of you put way too much consideration into body language. Some people aren't as demonstrative as others, but can be just as (or more) competitive and be playing just as hard (or harder).

Stats don't lie.
Williams plays 20.9mpg, Garrison 18.2. Both less than a typical starting C/5.
What are they doing with those minutes (in a apples to apples comparison)?
Below are their "per30min" averages:
Scoring- Williams 14.2 to 9.6
Rebounding - Williams 12.6 to 7.7 (Williams 12.6 is tied w/ Cousins 3rd best at UK (only behind Oscar) past 40+ years)
Assists - Garrison 4.1 to 3.7
Stocks (Stl+Blk) - Williams 2.8 to 2.5 (Williams more Blk, Garrison more Stl)
FG% - Williams 56.5% to 51.9%
3pt% - Garrison 33.3% to 0% (just 15 & 1 attempts)
FT% - Williams 65.3% to 54.5%
Williams is simply better in almost every aspect.

You are correct. Garrison has a much higher upside that isn't being developed because Williams is taking way too many minutes from him.
Our 2 weakest areas are rebounding and defense.
Garrison is not a good rebounder for a C/5. His rebounding is comparable to Ware.
And Garrison is also just not as good a defender.

also, not saying it was the case today, but sometimes the starter is playing vs other teams starters. a sub comes in and plays great,,,,,,but hes playing against other teams backups. again not saying that was the case today but it could skew the numbers
Exactly.
Like Carr was only in when Nelson was playing.

I never want to watch Williams play basketball again, couldn't make a free throw, turned the ball over, when he goes into an offensive move it's like watching a horror movie where the girl goes down to hide in the basement.
The way he tried to dribble the ball at arm’s length to his side is hilarious. I could steal the ball from him.

Neither Williams or Garrison are good low post players. Williams can’t shoot and cannot play strong enough to dunk 1 foot shots. Garrison is raw and improving some, but can occasionally hit the three-ball. Both have to rebound and play defense better, although Williams has a decent rebound average per minute.
The lack of a post presence is why I wonder, in retrospect, how this season would've gone if we got Great Osobor instead of Williams. I'm not as tough on Williams play as some, but it's obvious he limits the offense, and he's only an okay passer.

Offense is not our problem!!! 🤦🏻‍♂️
BTW, Williams scores nearly 50% more per minute than does Garrison.

Defense and Rebounding are our areas of concern (maybe 3pt shooting too). And without Williams defense and rebounding would be bigger concerns, he is better at both than Garrison. Much much better at rebounding.
Williams is very close to Garrison in assists per minute also, but does turn it over more.

Also Osobor wanted to play with Williams. So it was Carr and/or Garrison that scared him off.

While a little harsh I feel ya man. The dude gets worse every game. Then I hear last week how great of a rebounder he is because he avgs 8 a game lol.
I've never once seen the guy box out or even look like he understands how to rebound

Funniest thing is guys like Buzz Williams saying the dude is the heart of our team. He’s the dude that will ultimately get this team bounced in March.
