Will Wynyard get a chance at Simmions?

Just thinking that a big body on him, might slow him down....of course we've never seen Wynyard play yet...but if he plays like the video's we've all seen.....it could be a good match up....

lol..I hope not..if he was showing anything in practice he woud have played in ole Miss game..Look for him to be a 4 role year player..Simmions is Alex's job.Id say he will get his 25, but cant let the guards get 20+ too

YES. This makes a lot of sense. I mean you know because Wynyard has been playing a lot since he arrived at UK and he's played really well on defense. And not to mention with his superior athleticism, speed, and quickness he has the ability to guard all positions on the court. Yeah. This is totally the best way to go. I actually expect Wynyard to completely shut Simmons down. Like zero points. You'd make a good coach OP.

The bad thing is he might. Simmons goes to the line a lot and Lee and Skal are very foul prone.

Thank you! :joy:[thumb2]

Sometimes I wish the Cats played zone more often. The games I have watched Simmons play he hasn't shown to be a good jump shooter and he takes it to the rack every time he touches it where he dunks it or gets fouled. A zone would slow some of that down. I hope Cal reads this. I know he hasn't thought of that.

I think you will see Lee and Poythress guarding Simmons. Mathews might get a shot at him too.

I dont think that Tai getting in to guard Simmons is likely.. that being said Have they ever played each other? New Zealand and Australia are (relatively) close.

New Zealand is 1,500 miles southeast of Australia, about the same distance as between Dallas and New York City. They're neighbors but not close in distance as many think.

I'm not sure if OP is serious, but if he is I have no idea why he thinks a foreign kid who has never played a minute of Div 1 bball would be a good matchup.
i understand the reasoning - Wynyard is similar size, I think; he's not underweight

He hasn't played in college , starting out guarding the best player in college seems like a terrible idea .

Dang OP .. 3500 + posts, I sure hope the others contained a clearer thought process. I suggest Chris Gettlefinger to guard him . .. help me out if I screwed up the punch line .

The defensive philosophy of a rather good/famous coach who wore brown suits about LSU with another great player/scorer...from ESPN Feb 8, 2007..'.Kentucky's Adolph Rupp had another idea. Knowing that Pete could get his points even if double- and triple-teamed, Rupp decided to cover Pete with a single defender and make sure no one else did any real damage. Of course, with so much more talent at every other position, Kentucky could afford to let Pete get his points'

U guys need to on your sarcasm meters. Some of you take things literally.
