Not to put too fine a point on it, but impressions of Stoops' offensive style/output might not be remedied after a single season of Coen's offense... I was initially skeptical of the notion of pulling in a quality QB from either the old transfer style or the portal.
But how many playoff appearances and titles and Heismans have gone to teams with transfer QB’s?
It is sort of the way “it gets done” the last 4 or 5 seasons.
And it proves that coaches may pigeon-hole players, especially quarterbacks, early in their careers and then stubbornly stick to their choice.
