Will we be more talented in the coming years?

We will be way more talented next year and could be the favorites to win it all.
You say that, but what data / proof do you have to back that claim ? We do not even know who will be on the team next year and you say "will be a LOT better next year, could be favorites to win it all" as fact. We also could be a lot less talented and have a .500 season. Now, like you, I do not have anything to prove that (nor do I believe it, just saying), so what you just posted is OPINION, not fact. WE DON"T KNOW how good / bad UK will be next year, next year is a ways off.

Imo they can. But they need pieces around them that they can play off of. With Jax/butler healthy Brea would be lethal! Now he gets the most attention defensively. And nobody to burn them for overplaying him!
Meh, even with Butler and Robinson in the lineup, Brea was "OK". He was starting to see his minutes go down before the injuries. He was hot at the beginning of the year, then when his 3 ball doesn't fall, he doesn't have a lot else in his game to demand high minutes. He can't create his OWN shot ,he is simply a nice, solid role player that will get you 10-11 points and sometimes will go on a heater and score 20. He is not / never was a 18-20 per game scorer. he is too reliant on running plays to get him shots, he can't create his own, and not a great ball handler. 3 point specialist and not much else no matter the roster make up.

People misuse the term "talent." We have talent. We lack athleticism/quickness in many of our guys. We don't need EVERYONE to be a super athlete, but we need more guys who can stay in front of their man on defense and who can make opposing defenses pay for overplaying by beating them off the dribble.
Agree. We have a collection of solid players, role players / glue guys, but need athletic guys who can create, rebounders, and physical guys who can defend. We have a bunch of "average" talent that has several flaws and do not have THE star who can game in and game out put the team on his back if things was not going well. Athleticism, rebounding, ball handling the major issues. When everything is going good (hitting 3's protecting the basketball, and engaged defensively), those flaws are masked a bit.

We MUST shoot really well to beat good / above average teams, we do not have a team that can win in other ways. MUST hit 10+ 3s, hit free throws, and have less than 8 or so TO's, if not, its a dogfight against average / below average teams. Which is why we do not have a lot of blow out wins, even against inferior opponents.

But Pope has done a solid job based on the hand he was dealt, if these same things consist next year having a full year to put a team together, I will get concerned, but I think he will put it together and have a solid roster with a better makeup than this year. We have over achieved and it turned some fans into thinking it was the norm and we would simply run thru the SEC without many issues. Not saying it was fools gold, but we definitely over achieved based on the actual talent on the roster, injuries or no injuries. Without the injuries, we still would have 8/10 losses. We simply have had some really great offensive performances and beat teams we probably should not have.

You and I both know pope doesn’t have a couple of years to start competing. He has to do it next year, he just does. And If Kentucky fans temper expectations we wouldn’t be Kentucky anymore. Nobody expects to win a title every year but it’s been 10 years since they made a final four, they gotta start winning again.
Then what do fans expect? Start competing? He beat more good teams this season then any coach we've had. I'd say that is competing.
We've been no worse than a 3 seed all season with 3 to 4 major injuries and some fans act as if it's been a complete failure because Alabama n Auburn were better smh

It’s not what I’m expecting. I understand what he has done this year and the challenges they have been presented. I very happy with why he has done so far. I also know how a lot of this fanbase is, and they won’t be patient for very long

He's going to have to get better players. Can he get the top players was always my question about him. We will see.

This is just me but jasper is whole lot better than people are acting like. Now can pope get a top 5 guy that TBT. But I know pope can get guys 6-20, and I know pope can get good portal guys.

Auburn, Bama, A/M, will all lose a ton. Florida will lose those guards, Tennessee will lose a bunch. I don’t see it being near as tough next season!
I guess we will be bidding for our players vs them.
The entire NIL deal needs work.
