Will see Thompson in Dayton on 19th

We have Flyin To The Hoop tickets for Friday night. Two good games, three top-20 national teams and a top Ohio team playing.
There is supposed to be about ten top-100 (ESPN) players scheduled to play in the two games.

I attend and cover this event every year. This is one of the best events in the nation.

This is my write up and evaluation of him last year.

Anthony Thompson • Lebanon • 6’7” • 2026

Averaging 15PPG and leading Lebanon in points per game, rebounds, and blocked shots, this young star is on his way to another great year statistically speaking. Thompson is a smooth operator on the offensive side of the court, he consistently knocks down shots at all 3 levels: in limited space, off the dribble, and off the catch. His shooting form is flawless, his shot is consistent, effortless, and silky smooth.

He takes what the defense gives him and does not get sped up or out of rhythm. His game is mature, he is patient and waits for the right opportunities to attack the defense. He plays with extreme confidence and poise beyond his age. He is equally comfortable with his back to the basket, on the perimeter, driving to the basket, and pushing the ball up the court to start the break. Has great hands, reads and recognizes the defense, and makes the right play whether that is an offensive move to the basket or a pinpoint pass to set up his teammates for scoring opportunities.

Bad news for his opponents-he is extremely versatile, appears to still be growing and has not filled out his frame to reach his full potential. He is a phenomenal player now and will only become more dominant as he adds additional size and strength to complement his versatile skill set and high basketball IQ.

Sounds like a great Pope prospect.

Wow. Even more excited to see him live after reading this! I'll try to look for you and look forward to the coming write up!

The Richmond Heights team was missing their best player when I saw them last weekend. He is a Ohio State commit.. hopefully he is back because they weren’t very good without him.

Saturday through Monday is stacked with players and programs. This event is likely a top 10 high school event in the nation. Lots of Nike money supporting it.

Thanks for the RH info!!
We've been going for most of the past 15 or so years. It is a fun event. We like to see the top national and local talent.

We met Calipari, Payne and Antigua in 2014 when we watched Ulis and Marian Catholic vs Dunbar.
