Will Knox and Alexander be the knockdown shooters.

We don't need a bunch of three point assassins to win it all. UNC was not even top 100 and did just fine.

We need decent shooters who can keep them honest, I think we have enough guys (Green, SGA, Knox, Baker) that are decent enough to hit most of their open looks.

And with our size/length, we should dominate the boards. We should have four guys 6'6 or better on the floor at all times.

Missed shots aren't the worst thing in the world if you can rebound.

IS Green a shooter? I think the jury is still out. In one of the All-star games, he had a wide open 3 late to tie the game and he missed badly.

Just saw the 2 games, but he looked average from the arc

While it's true Knox will do most of his damage in the paint, the kid doesn't have a ugly stroke and will only get better from deep. When you have the size and frame of Knox, it would be silly to spend most of your time on the 3 point line in high school or AAU. I don't see Knox as a shooting guard, but the kid will see minutes at SF and while in college, I don't think there is that big of a difference from SG to SF.

I believe that Green is a mid 30%from 3. We will have Green, Knox, Alexander, and Baker that will be decent 3 point shooters. Also, watching PJ Washington and Vanderbilt in there Senior year and during the All-Star games they both have a nice touch from 3 point range. We could have 5 or 6 players decent mid 30 to 4o% from 3 point range this year. This could be one of Coach Cal's best overall shooting teams since coming to Kentucky 8 years ago.

This team will shoot a lot better than Cals first team from 3. Swapping Jemarl for Dodson alone will take care of that if we get into another WV situation.

With the size, speed, and athleticism this team has, A LOT of the 3s taken will be wide open. Nothing helps a percentage more than that. I think Green, Diallo, Knox, and Vanderbilt will all be over 30%. I think SGA and Barker will be around 35% in limited minutes.

More than enough to keep DEF honest and take the title.

In my completely worthless opinion as always.

Diallo??? When did that happen.

Agreed. I'm a Diallo fan, but listing him as knockdown shooter requires some very blue-tinted glasses ;- ). Hope he can be 32-33%+. He'll make his money driving, the mid-range game and at the foul line. He should avg 6-7+ foul shots a game. If he can keep his 3pt % north of 30% they'll have to respect him.

Average shooter - yes
Knockdown shooter - Only in my UK dreams. (MKG is a knockdown shooter in this same dream ;- )

i think he will be a bit better knockdown than mkg...probly close to a darius miller type.

I agree that Knox is a better shooter than MKG.

I just meant when I dream of UK wing players being 'knock-down' shooters that MKG is in that blue-tinted dream. Wow, that kid played with intensity on both ends of the floor and attacked the rim at will, was a great teammate, etc ... If he was a knock-down shooter (or just an average shooter) someone would one day put a statute up of him. He's still a good player that coaches love.
